Californians will have to pay for two new taxes next year after Gov. Gavin Newsom approved the state budget in June in what the California Taxpayers Association described as “the largest tax increase in state history.”
Newsom and Democratic lawmakers agreed on proposals that would raise health insurance premiums and slap a new charge on software downloads in an effort to make up federal revenue loss from an antagonistic Trump administration, Democrats said.
Republicans blasted the new taxes. “Record spending does not equate to better quality of life, and anyone living in California for the last decade would likely agree. This budget is bad for job creators and workers,” said Sen. Roger Niello (R).

The real purpose of the Commerce Clause was to prevent interstate tariffs and duties. This will not fly with the SCOTUS.

Seems to me that a good conservative election strategy would be to pound on the message that if Democrats get control that the entire country will end up footing the bill for CA and NYC.

A huuuuge portion of the "federal revenue loss" is due to Kalifornia using $$$ to fund Healthcare (and who knows what else) for the millions of Kalifornia illegal invaders.
A few years ago, Guv Newscum was bragging about "come into Kalifornia, you get Healthcare coverage and insurance."

Just like with the gas taxes that are through the roof and now they have added sales tax for LA County to the mix as well(Of course they said that voters approved it, NO THEY DIDNT) this state is a lost cause, Id move to Florida tomorrow if my sister and her family left too I am SO done with this state
