Canada has allowed its armed forces to waste away to nothing, and Trump has been pushing all NATO members to spend more.
We Americans want Canada to increase military spending and readiness, in fact we demand it.
It’s for self defense. Huge coastline, small population. Canada is exposed. They can’t depend on the US for everything.
But Putin is a wise and intelligent leader, right?
At least they didn’t buy Britain’s discarded garbage this time.
Unfortunately, Trump's 51 state comment was incredibly ill timed. The conservatives in Canada were guaranteed to win after Trudeau's disastrous economy, until Trump started posting “51st State!” which led to the liberal party winning in Canada.
If they’re gearing up for war, they might want to consider the wisdom of pouring billions of pounds/Euros into the Rooskies’ coffers by buying all that energy from them...
Guess what kind of voting equipment Canada uses....
Oh, my.
I’d better add Loonies to the list.
Per AI, sourced to the CBC...
“Canada formally banned all direct imports of Russian crude oil and petroleum products following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
However, Canadian refineries still receive Russian energy through a loophole where Russian crude is processed in third countries (like India or Turkey), blended, and then legally exported to Canada. While direct crude imports ceased, independent investigations and trade data indicate millions of barrels of refined petroleum products containing Russian crude oil continue to enter Canada.
This indirect trade generates hundreds of millions in revenue that ultimately benefits the Russian energy sector.”
If they’re gearing up for war,...
Canada once sat on a serious stack of gold. By the mid‑1960s, our official reserves peaked at roughly 1,023 tonnes. Over the next decades, Ottawa steadily sold it off, arguing that a modern reserve should favour liquid, interest‑bearing foreign assets over bullion. By 2016, the government’s gold line was essentially zero. Alone among the G7, Canada now holds no official gold.”

A fatal mistake.
If you haven’t had a chance, see my reply #13. :-)
And THAT is one of the reasons Alberta is making noises about separation. Several proposed pipelines from Alberta to Ontario and further East have been proposed, but the Irving oil family would rather purchase from Russia and Middle Eastern nations than support Canadian oil. America buys more Alberta oil than all “Canadian” refineries do. Then it’s sent up here AFTER being refined.
From what I understand, Trump wants us to get out of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement because it benefits Canada mostly and they are not honoring their part of the deal.
So we are doing bilateral trade agreements instead.
The things you’ve listed are all provincial responsibilities and would all fall to the Premiers of each province to address, not federal government. Unless you consider the CPP, however, that is fully funded and recently expanded.
When will Canada’s Carney announce Canada is now part of the EU because he says so ?LOL
They will probably station them in the great lakes. /s
