The left has their pro-terrorist One Battle After Another, an overlong, mediocre, $100 million studio movie told by a major director (Paul Thomas Anderson) using one of the world’s biggest movie stars (Leonardo DiCaprio). The result? It flopped at the box office and was still predictably showered with unearned critical praise and major Oscar wins.
Basically, One Battle After Another is angry that America enforces the law by deporting illegal immigrants and demands violence against the government to make it stop.
Today we have a rebuttal, and a pretty effective one… Best of all, it’s deliciously subversive.
Citizen Vigilante is a briskly-paced (at 89 minutes) low-budget exploitation movie told by a director who was long ago written off as a joke (Uwe Boll), using an unjustly disgraced star (Armie Hammer). The result? Despite the best efforts of left-wing censors, a brilliant guerrilla campaign has already driven it into the national conversation. Elon Musk then did what he does best: overturned the whole enchilada by releasing it to everyone for free on X.
Basically, Citizen Vigilante is angry that European governments agree with One Battle After Another in that they refuse to enforce the law against the millions of unvetted migrants they imported who have brought their appalling and dangerous Third World values with them.

Could have chosen a better protagonist than Armie the Biter.... but I guess he was cheap!
I saw a clip where that guy enters a family apartment and murders all of them cold blood on the couch. It was a huge turn-off.
My best girl and I watched it on Prime Video last night. It is a poorly done movie with a distinct Death Wish vibe except that Death Wish is much better. I can appreciate the sentiments expressed in this movie but it is a real groaner.
The family was a family of muslim rapists, they all knew, protected the rapists, and said the innocent girl deserved it. Did freepers get replaced with liberal pacifists?
Did you listen to the dialogue for that scene? You make it sound like a random murder rather than righteous application of justice for a gang rape. No wonder the West is dying.
Gave ‘em the Keyser Soze treatment, eh.
I figured there was a backstory to it and it was a justified assassination.
But I just that that trailer was so brutal that I did not want to watch it. That is hardly “liberal pacifist.”
No, sound was off. I saw subtitles, though.
A good rule of thumb is any movie (One Battle After Another) Lenardo DiCrapio is in is a sh_t movie.
Sounds like it. It certainly wasn't Oscar material, nor was it meant to be. The message was clear and I enjoyed it.
Watch the movie and get back to us. I watched it yesterday and was awed.
I watched it, and found it kind of confusing.
in no country on earth would some news reporter act like that lady did, and anyone praising the guy on social media would get banned.
I think it is interesting that freepers seem to hold this fictional guy in much higher regard than Luigi Mangione.
It’s an ugly, sordid movie and much less relevant than even Death Wish as a vigilante movie.
1. That completely unnecessary and odd sex scene with the hooker - what was that doing in the movie?
2. The massacre of everyone in that Muslim family - the rapists, sure - but the mom and the daughter?
3. The ridiculous slaughter of all those cops when they had him cornered. Unrealistic and he loses any moral ground.
4. The vigilante’s barely obscured TV announcements is absolutely dumb - he’s making the police work really easy.
Never thought the Death Wish would be a bench mark for vigilante movies - but at least he kept a moral compass and only caught up the bad guys.
Not at all meant to be Oscar material. It’s meant to get the west to pull their heads out of their butts. Tough love, if you will. But we do appear to have a poster or two who get the ickies from a 2 second clip with no context. That’s a problem
Context, context, context. Context is everything, particulary for this movie.
This.
Watch the movie and reevaluate!!
I believe that was character building. You really had to look for the the construction of the Vigilante character in the movie. Who is the guy and what is his back story? It was rushed. They could have spent a bit of time on the construction of the characters of Vigilante's victims as well. Maybe it should have been a limited series? But they didn't have the budget.
It works with the scenes like the one where he talking with his property manager about property maintenance and shows hime the pictures he took.
His care about his buildings is an analogy to his care about the crumbling European/Western Culture.
He will take care of the European culture until they learn how.
Lots of new villains have poked their heads up since DW first aired 52 years ago.
Back then, it was only street thugs.
