This video, Overflow Episode 99 by BestInTesla, covers a variety of updates surrounding Tesla and SpaceX. Here is a summary of the key topics discussed:
Tesla’s Growth in Europe: Despite negative media sentiment last year, Tesla sales in Europe have rebounded significantly, with a 108% increase in May and 57% growth year-to-date (1:20-5:17). The video emphasizes that the earlier decline was primarily due to the refreshed Model Y production pause rather than political factors.
Full Self-Driving (FSD) Updates: Finland is emerging as a potential leader in approving Tesla's FSD Supervised independently of the broader EU-wide process, with authorities noting the system's potential to improve safety (12:03-13:30). The video also highlights the risks of rigid speed limit enforcement for autonomous systems (14:36-15:13).
SpaceX Innovation: SpaceX successfully conducted a demo flight of the Starfall system, a low-cost capsule return vehicle designed for routine access to microgravity environments (9:12-11:56).
Safety and Rankings: Tesla continues to lead in safety, with the Cybertruck earning top honors from the IIHS (16:11-16:25). Additionally, Tesla models have been ranked as the #1 and #2 most American-made vehicles for 2026 (19:05-19:44).
Energy Storage Deal: Tesla announced a massive deal to supply over 25 gigawatt-hours of Megapacks across Italy and the UK, a significant step for their energy business (19:45-21:28).
New Features: The video showcases new Tesla home energy management software included with every Powerwall (23:50-25:43) and shares insights into upcoming improvements in airbag deployment timing using vision systems (16:35-19:04).

Tesla stock is a buying opportunity right now. TSLA stock artificially declined in a big dip the last couple weeks to 374/share, and is set to rebound, potentially to 500 or 600 when news of an impending merger with SpaceX is announced. SpaceX also on a dip, as expected since the IPO, at 151/share, where I pegged it to go as news of the share unlocking occurs. Don’t buy SPCX at this time, wait a year. But TSLA will pop to new heights over the next few months, and be more valuable.
Repeat after me: Tesla is not a car company; it’s a battery company that needed a product to create demand for their batteries
The interesting thing to me is how Musk keeps creating profitable enterprises that all ultimately serve his primary goal of establishing a colony on Mars.
Need electric vehicles on Mars. ✔
Need tunneling machines on Mars. ✔
Need satellite internet on Mars. ✔
Need a fleet of rockets to get to Mars. ✔
Need an army of robot workers on Mars. ✔
You nailed it.
Space X is laughable. This IPO made billions on the far fetched idea of having server farms in space. ROFL. OMG if anything is screaming tech bubble, this is.
I agree. Buying opportunity for TSLA whenever it drops below 400.
Don’t bet against Musk on that.
Robots build the colony infrastructure in anticipation of humans arriving.
Humans don't show up for some reason.
Robots develop a civilization and have a religion about waiting for humans.
Can't remember a particular title, but I have a vague memory of reading something like that somewhere. { snicker }
Unless there is a big change, ICE vehicles are done. The only thing keeping them alive is the negative propaganda against Tesla, and the fact that other American automakers are so far behind Tesla that it will take them a long time to catch up. But, fuel economy won't be the only thing that kills them. Cost and frequency of maintenance will also contribute to their demise.
All the above will pave the way for the first humans on Mars.
Should have added in solar and battery tech, he’s also building up his capacity for that as well, and it’s critical tech to the mission.
You should see the stuff they’re doing to automate the boring machines. It’s amazing.
“Repeat after me: Tesla is not a car company; it’s a battery company that needed a product to create demand for their batteries”
Heh. Go watch Battery Day videos on Youtube. Tesla realized its dependence on batteries (2019?) and started making its own.
They started as a car company and expanded into batteries and AI. Elon will do whatever it takes to make his businesses profitable. I believe he’s pursuing lithium refining as well. And he owns lithium mines.

I also remember reading a sci-fi story like that, back in the 1960's. Two AI robotic societies on a world, constantly warring with each other, while waiting for humanity to return. They ended up cloning a couple humans, and the male human now in control of the robot societies, ruled that one robot society would administer the north while the other would administer the south half of the world. Only a human could make a common sense decision to end the war.
Problem now is that human leaders don't have common sense any more, so Musk wants us to start new on Mars beginning with robots.
Allow me to disagree with some of your premise. Yes, oil will continue to be in supply. However, the political powers in control want to stop people from owning private vehicles, and are creating various mandates to reduce private ownership, primarily affecting gas vehicles. So yes, ICE vehicles are done in the near future. Then EV's will be targeted.
I've owned an EV for over 7 years, with barely any maintenance or costs. Contrast that with the several ICE vehicles I own that constantly need maintenance and big costs to operate, which is why my EV is my daily driver. ICE vehicles will always need to be used, for heavy hauling and big tasks, which is what I use my ICE truck for. Public transport cannot replace that.
Whatever else Musk builds and is successful with, Mars will still be unachievable.
Humans were ‘designed’ and ‘engineered’ for life on Earth, and Earth was designed and engineered for life that was later to come, which is what we now have on Earth.
Mars and Jupiter and all of the planets and the sun, were all designed and engineered to support life on Earth.
Humans cannot exist elsewhere in the universe, not even in the proximity of our solar system, other than our planet.
Only when humans get a redesign, can we go where no human has ever gone before, but then, that will be as non-organic beings. The universe is not a friendly place for life as we know it. Even our sun is not that friendly to us and to life in general; it’s trying to kill us at every instance.
Unless he God himself there will not be a city on Mars - much less then moon.
