Obama Center embeds 'Indigenous' land message on controversial site
Fox News ^ | June 20, 2026 | Michael Dorgan

"People here in future years are going to hear about how this land was stolen from the Native Americans," Illinois GOP Chair Bob Grogan told Fox News Digital outside the center last week. "But, underneath, you should all be reading into this, that it was actually stolen from the citizens of Illinois, not from the Native Americans."

The criticism stems from a yearslong legal and political battle over the transfer of 19.3 acres of Jackson Park public land to the Obama Foundation under a 99-year agreement requiring the one-time $10 payment.

Critics also argue that what was originally presented as a presidential library evolved into a campus that serves as the home of the Obama Foundation.'

"This land actually was recaptured from the Great Chicago Fire. They took a bunch of rubble and actually created this land," he said. "So, it has nothing to do with the Native Americans, but it has everything to do with stealing it from the taxpayers of the city of Chicago."

A significant portion of a landmark Chicago park is culturally appropriated by a world class narcissist.

More moral preening. If you really think that you are building on stolen land, what are you going to do about it? How are you going to make restitution? Just put up a sign? That’s it? How about finding the people that the land was “stolen” from and giving them the fair value? Its all such BS.

Have you ever noticed that the virtue-signalers who “acknowledge” that the land they’re on has been “stolen” from American Indians are never in a great hurry to return what they now own to those tribes?

And whom did the people that the land was “stolen” from steal it from?

I guess from Indians who stole it from other Indians, who stole it from other Indians, who stole it from other Indians and so on, murdering and raping along the way... but we are the bad guys because we are white.

THAT us exactly the question. Did one tribe only settle on that land Or did other tribes conquer and take over the area several times through the years?

Soro Bozo. We didn’t steal it. We kicked a lot of ass for it in order to bring it out of the Stone Age.

FTA-—Critics argue that what the Obamas presented as a “presidential library”
is a $850 million campus that serves as the Obama Foundation’s fund-raising offices.

It has everything to do with stealing land from City of Chicago taxpayers.

according to Genesis, God the Creator brings forth the land, giving Man stewardship - not ownership.

I agree. Certain members of my family are libs and I enjoyed offering a land acknowledgment before Thanksgiving dinner. But this article contains something startling: This is reclaimed land. No Indian ever lived in it. So, in their haste to do what you properly call “moral preening” they flat out lie about the land to which the acknowledgment relates. I can’t say I’m surprised at their blatant gall to lie right to our faces, since they do so as a matter of course

It’s not about helping the Indians, it’s about delegitimizing the existing working class.

Absolute nonsense, only a moron would buy into this drivel.

Every country on earth, with the possible exception of three, could be designated as “stolen land”.

The three possible exceptions would be the three modern countries where the neolithic revolution took place some 12,000 years ago because some of their descendants are probably still occupying the land.

That would be Iraq, India and China, and even these three have suffered invasion and occupation since then.

Should the English demand reparations from the Norman French, or perhaps the Romans, the Vikings, the Anglo Saxons?

This entire subject exposes how empty-headed democrats have become, just sheer pandering, desperately trying and failing yet again to connect with ordinary, everyday Americans.

And at the top of their tree is the great imposter, Obama.

Usually the latter, and you can rest assured that the conquering tribe never virtue-signaled by "acknowledging" that they were on land "stolen" from their enemy tribe.

It reminds me of the situation in South Africa where the Bantus - especially the Xhosa - use the claim that Afrikaners stole their "native" land from under them. Never mind the fact that the Xhosa took land from Zulus, while both Xhosa and Zulu took over land that was originally colonized by !Kung bushmen.

Apparently, land is only "stolen" when white people conquer it. If it's Indian vs. Indian or black African vs. black African, all's fair and good.

Obama is a sly fox.
💡

He deliberately built an ugly monstrosity on the site. So now the Indians won’t want the land back.

The center features several floors that are completely closed to guests and tourists. I suspect that the Obama Foundation offices are located in these restricted areas.

"This land actually was recaptured from the Great Chicago Fire. They took a bunch of rubble and actually created this land,"

Here's hoping that the descendants of Mrs. O'Leary's cow learn of this and decide to tie up some loose ends.
