King Charles reportedly raised concerns about hosting President Donald Trump during his state visit to the U.K. following Trump's public attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Last September, Trump paid a state visit to the U.K., during which he stayed at Windsor Castle with King Charles and Queen Camilla.
According to an iPaper report, King Charles was “reticent” about hosting Trump. One source told the outlet he “did not want to do it.”
Per the report, the concerns stemmed from how Trump treated Zelensky during his visit to the White House in February 2025.

Just to make Trump look bad. PM Starmer gave Trump King Charles’ invitation during the first days of Trump ‘s administration.
With all due respect to the monarchy (which is none), who cares what King Charles thinks?
Charlie and his clan are tourist attractions, and nothing more. Wave to the crowd, Charlie. He’s got no power. And precious little influence. Parliament can abolish his title and his office tomorrow if they so wished.
Am I going too far in criticizing the British monarchy? Oh, yeah. But it’s the small r republican in me. I just can’t help it.
It will soon be known as The United Caliphate.
He was worried Trump was going to grab him by the **ssy....
That's the flaw with the British system.
The House of Lords used to be powerful and the King had some powers.
Now there are no checks and balances.
Charles is a MUSLIM! Understand this and it all makes sense.
> The House of Lords used to be powerful and the King had some powers. <
And that was, in general, a good idea. The House of Lords once functioned something like our Senate. The House of Lords was able to put a brake on the passions of the moment.
If I’m not mistaken, the House of Lords still has the power to delay some bills. I guess that’s better than nothing.
As to the King having any real powers, I have mixed feelings. He makes a nice poster boy on British coins and such. I thing I’d leave it at that.
King Charles at least knows how to get dressed.
They were filled with aristocrats and naturally they were more conservative.
Due to the Parliament Act of 1911, they lost their power to veto bills.
Queen Elizabeth II met with the Prime Minister every week for 70 years. That gives one perspective, and if the monarch is intelligent (QE II was), a repository of a vast amount of information held by no one else. The monarchs are privy to the secret stuff, which is why Harry must never get close.
“ King Charles was reluctant to host Trump after disaster Zelensky White House meeting”
Yawn.
Yep! Muslim convert
You make an interesting point. I suppose that in those private meetings, a good monarch can gently nudge his/her prime minister in the right direction.
But the prime minister must be a reasonable person.
The whole mess depresses me. I admired Queen Elizabeth II. Charles, not so much. But here’s the thing. Elizabeth evidently did nothing to stave off the Muslim invasion of the UK. And Charles, the same.
So I have to ask. If the monarch cannot or will not act in such a severe crisis, then what good is the monarch?
Generally speaking, History has understood a simple truth for centuries:
When the strong attack the weak, there is no honor in it.
When the strong refuse to challenge other strong powers, it is evidently perceived as weakness.
But when a nation that was widely expected to fall stands its ground against a vastly larger military power… THAT is called heroism.
Ukraine, a country facing an adversary (Russia) roughly 28 times its size, has resisted for more than four years. By any historical standard, that is extraordinary.
And Ukraine has not faced Russia alone. It has confronted Russian forces alongside communist North Korean troops, Islamic Chechen fighters, a steady flow of Iranian drones, and massive Communist Chinese help to Russia.
This, what it faces is not merely a single nation, but a coalition of NeoSoviet, Communist and Islamic states and forces aligned in support of Russia.
Viewed in that light, Ukraine’s struggle rises well beyond conventional definitions of heroism.
It is the story of a nation that refused to surrender when much of the world expected it to.
According to an “iPaper report”? Is that a big thing?
Makes King Charles sound like a soy boy. No surprise.
,,, from the day he was born there were servants for that.
Britain’s King Charles III has long shown a deep, academic interest in Islam and
for promoting interfaith dialogue and supporting Muslim communities in the UK.
Upon his accession, King Charles expressed a desire to be known as a “protector of all faiths” rather than just the traditional “Defender of the Faith” (which specifically refers to Christianity), reflecting his commitment to religious pluralism.
He has previously stated that Islam is “part of our past and our present” and that Western culture is in debt to Islamic scholars. It has been reported that he has studied the Quran and has learned Arabic to better understand the faith.
He is a patron of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and has hosted iftar events. The rumors about his conversion stem from his respectful, close engagement with the religion, but official sources and the palace maintain he is a devoted Anglican.
