A day after President Donald Trump alleged widespread cheating in California’s primary, a top prosecutor said the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI are conducting “multiple election fraud investigations” in the state.
Bill Essayli, the first assistant U.S. attorney, did not provide any details or specifics of just what is being investigated, but said in a social media post: “We will follow the evidence wherever it leads and prosecute any violations of federal election law to the fullest extent.”
A spokesperson for the FBI’s Los Angeles office would not confirm Essayli’s post, but said “suffice to say there are hundreds of fraud allegations in LA alone,” later adding that was not specific to election-related cases.
“You will have to talk to the first assistant if you want to question his statement. The FBI does not comment on fraud allegations that come our way,” Laura Eimiller said.
Vote counting is still underway in California for the June 2 primary election.
Here, every registered voter is mailed a ballot, and they have multiple ways to cast them: in person, at drop boxes or through the mail. Ballots returned via the U.S. Postal Service are still counted so long as they are postmarked on or before Election Day and arrive at the county elections office within seven days.
It’s not so much that vote counting takes a long time; it’s the process, set by state law, which gives voters time to fix a signature challenge on mailed ballot envelopes. This year, that deadline is 5 p.m. on June 24 — and that means election officials cannot certify results at the county level until June 26.
“Accuracy comes before speed,” Secretary of State Shirley Weber said after Trump’s allegations.

Only 800,000 voters are involved and that makes it easy for the DOJ to verify the validity of those 800,000 votes.
"""“Accuracy comes before speed,” Secretary of State Shirley Weber said after Trump’s allegations."""
The CA Sec of State might end up eating those words after the DOJ investigation.
Who pays the price for the fraud?
Who believes this?
The only way to fix Cauliphonya’s stolen elections is to have ICE and CBP to count the ballots. That would also help speed up the counting in that low I.Q. state.
Here are some of the things the DOJ must do:
1. Immediately take control of the mail-in ballot ENVELOPES for the Los Angeles Mayoral Race.
2. Immediately get a certified copy of all REGISTERED VOTER DOCUMENTS in the City of Los Angeles.
3. Once the DOJ has the above documents in hand, it can investigate thoroughly the 800,000 who voted on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
4. DOJ needs to use DOJ Scanning Software to validate the signatures on the Ballot Envelopes versus the signatures on file with Los Angeles.
5. DOJ needs to validate that the 800,000 voters actually reside in Los Angeles.
This should be an easy task for DOJ to determine if there is fraud in Los Angeles.
If the DOJ finds fraud in Los Angeles, then they can expand the investigation to include ALL of California.
being an Angeleno, i hope the national spotlight on this is step one in cleaning up the massive election fraud here. btw i mailed my ballot on 5/27, was notified it was received 6/2 and have yet to be notified it was counted.
Who pays the price for the fraud?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We the people.
I live in Florida and our mail-in ballot envelope shows our name, address, and whether we are a registered Republican, Democrat, or Independent.
What about California? What information is on the envelope?
Nobody. June 20 final results for Nov=bass vs noodles for LA ‘mare’. Gov race bacheria vs steyerfoam.
I liked your short answer. On the other hand:
Who DOESN’T pay the price for fraud?
Answer: California politicians who create election systems that are easy to defraud. And CA politicians are not the only ones.
Latest overnight news:
“Spencer Pratt got 0 out of 24,000 votes in a late night LA ballot drop.”
They don’t even try to hide it.
name address signature for verification- no party designation. i think they flood with prepared mail-ins marked to their liking, with fake addresses, etc. or with stolen identities or whatever.
Don’t know about Cali, but in Oregon our ballot envelope shows only our signature...which I hate.
“”” i think they flood with prepared mail-ins marked to their liking, with fake addresses, etc. or with stolen identities or whatever.”””
And that is why the DOJ should focus on Los Angeles City and get the Voter Registration Rolls and the envelopes with signatures.
As we all know, California and other states have been resisting sending any of their Voter Registration Rolls to the DOJ so the DOJ can check to see if a Registered Voter is an USA citizen or not.
The crooks in California a moving fast to remove Pratt from the picture
“””Don’t know about Cali, but in Oregon our ballot envelope shows only our signature...which I hate.”””
Does Oregon even match the signature on the ballot envelope to the signature on file?
If Oregon does match the signatures, then how do they CURE the ballot if there is no name or address on the envelope?
I would not be surprised to learn Oregon does NOT match signatures.
I don’t any of the things on your list will actually happen but everything on your list is exactly what should happen.
They do match signatures...they say. Several years ago my hub got contacted because of a signature match issue. Whether they match ALL or just audit, I do not know. I think they used to match all...but who knows now.
“””I don’t any of the things on your list will actually happen but everything on your list is exactly what should happen.”””
I have the same doubts the DOJ will be able to do what they ought to do.
And if the DOJ fails under the Trump Presidency, the future is bleak.
