Donald Trump on Friday applauded Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., for working to shut down an amendment to an immigration enforcement funding package that he called a "poison pill."
The Senate this week mulled an amendment to the reconciliation package that would have included language to bar the creation of the Department of Justice's abandoned "anti-weaponization fund." Paul called the amendment a "poison pill" that was unrelated to the main issue.
"Very Impressive. Proud of you!" Trump wrote on Truth Social, sharing a post from Paul.
"There should never be a situation where any Republican who campaigned on [Trump's] America First agenda turns around & rallies with Democrats to poison-pill a straightforward bill funding ICE & Border Patrol," Paul wrote. "I shot down this unrelated amendment, and we got the funding passed."

Cassidy proposed it and is being awkward ... Sore loser?
First time Trump and Paul have been together since the final Hair Club For Men meeting they attended.
It’s about damned time!
Maybe Rand is feeling the pressure and getting ahead when he has to run again.
It has been a while
And I say this as someone who generally likes Rand Paul on most other issues and topics.
Heard both were up for the role of Kojak in a reboot for Peacock but went back to politics after the sessions worked.
Nice to see Rand learned his lesson from the fall of the traitor Massie.
Finally Rand does something helpful.
Good start Rand. Now when Tulsi declassifies the Covid files you can call Fauci in to perjure himself.
Rand maybe catching on to where the wind is blowing with all the successful RINO hunts. This act was likely more self preservation than conviction
Rand will now commit seppuku.
See how magnanimous President can be?
Congratulations to both men. Isn’t love simply grand!
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
