Hungarian prosecutors have dropped charges against Budapest Mayor Gergely Karacsony over his role in organising a Pride march last year.
The event took place in June 2025, despite warnings of potential legal repercussions by Hungary's then-Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whose government had passed a law banning public events involving the LGBTQ community.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hungarian prosecutors cited a landmark ruling from the EU's top court as its reason for dropping the charges.

You read it wrong. This guy was charged because he organized a pride event against Hungary law. Now that the EU got their stooge elected Hungary will conform to the EU gays.
Typical of a “deep state”. sitting politico ID’s a clear violation of gov’mt law but “judges” delay anything until the gov’mt changes — so that violation of law can be covered up and continue.

Looks like Hungary’s new prime minister is going to return his country to vassal state status. You’d have thought Hungary would have had enough of that from the Ottomans, the Hapsburgs, and the Soviets.

But I’m guessing that the EU will be circumspect here. Can’t turn Hungary’s new leader into a lap dog too soon.
Péter Magyar claims to have the same strong anti-immigration stance as did his predecessor. So Magyar have to be compromised in stages.
Right now Hungary will not allow “asylum seekers” to submit applications at the Hungarian border. That policy has really upset the EU. If Magyar changes that policy, we’ll know in what direction he’s headed.
