‘Teen takeovers’ will bring bloody chaos nationwide this summer — because Blue America isn’t bending
The New York Post ^ | 05/30/2026 | The New York Post Editorial Board

Get ready for a summer of teen mayhem, unless blue-city leaders across the country abandon their commitment to fostering disorder in the name of equity.

The hot new thing is a “takeover” — a Gen-Z euphemism for a riot,***

Chicago saw several “teen takeovers” over Memorial Day weekend, with dozens of arrests of “youths” running as old as 28.

And one of them saw Rashad Johnson, 18, allegedly plow his vehicle into a group of cops trying to restore order; he’s now charged with five counts of attempted murder.

President Donald Trump posted: “Five officers badly hurt. Mayor and Governor are terrible. Should call for help!”

Yet Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson claimed to be “encouraged by a Memorial Day weekend that saw zero homicides” (just 37 shootings); he blamed parents for failing to control their kids and Republicans for noticing the disorder — and finally declared he would “explore” legal efforts to “hold social media apparatuses accountable” for these crimes.

Of course, the mayor is already on record warning, “if we believe we can arrest our way toward safety, we’re wrong” — and has governed that way.

Beware: These flash riots are a national phenomenon.

***

Nor is Chicago’s Johnson entirely wrong to blame parents and social media — but a far bigger issue is the blue-state turn against holding juveniles to account.

New York’s own “Raise the Age” law all but guarantees young thugs like the Ontario Beach goons will face zero consequences for their actions: By hiking the age of criminal responsibility to 18 and bouncing everyone younger into Family Court, it ensures their “graduation” to ever-worse crimes. ***

Jersey, Illinois and Michigan have done their own juvenile-justice “reforms”; even Georgia raised the age of criminal responsibility years ago.

The Post Editorial Board managed to publish a lengthy opinion piece complaining about Democrats not holding “teens” accountable for their actions without identifying the common immutable trait of these “teens.” You cannot solve a problem when you are too afraid to say what the problem is. The Post Editorial Board is a feckless coward. So too are our political leaders.

The left wants chaos. They hope it leads to revolution and the destruction of the USA.

“Teen” is deliberately chosen because it is ambiguous. A thirteen YO is a child. A 19 YO is an adult. Not the same at at all but placed in one category to hide the real facts about it.

It is essentially the young branch of the huge mass of unemployed, undisciplined, irresponsible blacks that contribute nothing to society. It is running uncontrolled in the streets and it is destroying what is left of civilization.

Leftists welcome it. Republicans don’t talk about it. And so the problem grows.

In 2020 democrat-inspired riots destroyed inner cities. In 2026 out-of-control gangs are destroying cities.

Is there a way to get the Supreme Court to define what is a Constitutionally-protected protester? Today’s protesters are actually enemy soldiers. They are recruited, paid, trained, armed, supplied, fed, and lead. They are not picketers, walking back and forth, with signs airing their grievances which IS protected by the First Amendment. When Feds are sworn in, their Oath of Office includes a pledge to support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. So...what are the parameters of “protester”?

“What is the problem?”

Fundamentally the problem is the ability of governments to tax the middle class without constitutional limit.

Once the amount of fleecing is capped, then both leftists and conservatives can jointly focus on obtaining the rational use of available funds and sound public policy.

We need to limit the ability of Democrats to buy votes by placing middle-class tax caps in the federal constitution.

Enter in bills for two constitutional amendments.

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY TAX AMENDMENT

Levies on any residential property of less than 2799 square feet of finished living space shall be no higher than the 2019 dollar amounts for the property, or for a newer or since resold property no higher than what it would have been levied at for 2019 if it lacked owner specific tax breaks, increased by 3% per calendar year since 2019 and by any percentage increase to its finished living space.

FEDERAL PERSONAL INCOME TAX AMENDMENT

Federal taxation on personal income shall be progressively capped as follows:
below 20% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 10%,
below 50% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 22%,
below the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 30%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 100,000 largest recipients, 35%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 10,000 largest recipients, 40%.

Fighting in Congress to send middle-class income and property taxation cap constitutional amendments to the states would make Congress turn deep red come 2027.

The high-income people have the Laffer Curve effect to protect them.

“””””Is there a way to get the Supreme Court to define what is a Constitutionally-protected protester?”””””

It isn’t a question of the person it is if their assembly and protest is being done within the legal rules, we need to be strict about law violations by them arson laws, molotov cocktails, hammers to $3,000 windows, kidnapping people, waylaying cars, blocking roads and bridges, looting, group assault, all hard core prison offenses.
