Miranda Devine: Hunter Biden Benefiting From Trump’s Noble ‘Anti-Weaponization Fund’ Would Be a Slap in the Face

SNIP

Inexplicably, top Trump administration officials are also validating the former crackhead first son’s outrageous lie that he was prosecuted only because he was Joe Biden’s son.

It’s not clear why Acting AG Todd Blanche and VP JD Vance cited Hunter this week as their exemplar of bipartisan largesse to defend the new $1.7 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” for victims of lawfare, but it was a terrible idea. It’s so terrible, you could be forgiven for wondering if it was dreamed up by deep-staters intent on denying justice to the real victims of the Biden administration’s lawfare.

People like Michael Flynn, Michael Caputo, Christina Bobb, Jeff Clark, Peter Navarro, Steve Bannon, Tina Peters, Carter Page, Bevelyn Williams, Mark Houck, Father Fidelis Moscinski, Tom Barrack and Matthew Perna suffered a variety of life-altering consequences when they were maliciously and selectively investigated and prosecuted by Joe Biden’s FBI and DOJ just because they supported Donald Trump.

Message: Trump officials are validating Hunter Biden’s outrageous lie that he was prosecuted only because he was Joe Biden’s son. Acting AG Todd Blanche and VP JD Vance inexplicably cited Hunter as their exemplar of bipartisan largesse to showcase Trump’s $1.7 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” for victims of lawfare. Naming Hunter is a terrible idea, possibly even dreamed up by execrable deep-staters to deny justice to the real victims of Biden’s lawfare machinations.

"What some insiders have suggested should accompany the compensation is a sort of Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which would collect testimony from victims, witnesses and perpetrators in order to create a historical record, acknowledge the harm done to the victims, allow Americans to understand the truth of the abuses of that dark period, break the cycle of retribution and prepare a path for national healing."

Devine is right to keep the potential issues around Hunter Biden and this fund in the spotlight. But the 'out' was 'welcome to apply'. That does not equate in my mind to Hunter Biden being a beneficiary.

I suspect the quoted passage is what will probably be involved. I'm glad the efforts are being made for restitution, although nothing can fix the worst situations, like the suicides. But perhaps in those cases, justice should be brought on any who aggravated or contributed to those worst cases.

As far as the retribution part? There is some of it that needs to occur, as in 'sometimes bad things happen', in such a way that the guilty parties can't scream bloody murder without admitting their guilt. It would send a message ala the horse head in a bed.

You will probably see Comey and Letisha James apply for compensation through this program also.

We need to get ready for this, along with a pardon. I really think it will happen.

WSJ—”The former FBI official most prominently linked to Donald Trump’s $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” is former Director James Comey, who has expressed interest in applying for it despite his public criticism of the program.”

The list is long...
