LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A candidate for a Louisville-based Kentucky State House seat recently admitted to taking mail out of the mailbox of a potential voter.
Max Morley is running to replace Daniel Grossberg as Kentucky State Representative in the 30th House District, which includes parts of Jefferson County.
In a home security camera video reviewed by WHAS11, Morley is seen approaching a porch and ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door.
"While campaigning, I exhibited a lack of judgment. This isn’t acceptable, and it’s something I’m deeply sorry for. I apologize to the homeowner.
I want one thing to remain clear: voters in HD 30 deserve better than their current representative, and I don’t want them to be distracted from the ultimate goal of sending him home."
Louisville Democratic Party Vice Chair Rosalind Welch released the following statement regarding the video:
“I was disturbed to witness the video of a candidate removing another candidate’s information from a voter’s mailbox. This cycle, we have seen varying activities to confuse and challenge a voter’s right to information. By any other name it is voter suppression at its finest. It’s astounding to know that we have candidates running for office who ignore basic rules like ‘don’t touch voters’ mailboxes or take their mail.’ People are also sharing misinformation via confusing sample ballots. Please allow me to be your trusted source for changes and updates in this year’s primary election by visiting my website. We must challenge the status quo and elect candidates who are fighting for us all.”

He’s a Democrat. I was hoping no Republican would do something so foolish.
Another thing to note is this article has only 2 authors instead of 12...
Lack of judgement isn’t a quality I want from someone in power.
this is a crime....
The story manages to obfuscate his Democratitude, with even the Dem Party Vice Chair’s comment being general enough to cover anybody.
If you want, look up more about what is going on in that particular primary - it is an absolute dumpster fire.
Federal offense...not a good thing to do.
He’s a Democrat.
Thank you for the clarification. The author and publishers went a long way to obscure the party affiliation.
I thought so too. Messing with the US mail is a felony.
That’s five to ten and $50K.
What a moron communist. The head people need serious legal punishment if we are ever going to stop this.
No Republican is even running in that overwhelmingly Democrat district.
Three Democrat challengers including the federal (mail theft) criminal are running against a Democrat incumbent who I’ll assume is not considered to be enough of a lunatic leftist and is therefore being opposed by a trio of real nutbuckets.
[this is a crime...]
A FEDERAL CRIME
>The author and publishers went a long way to obscure the party affiliation.
Always a sure sign the person under discussion is a Democrat.
That is a federal crime.
It’s not just “not acceptable” its’ a federal crime.
Were they overworked? Is that why it took 6 paragraphs to get it the disclosure of the party affiliation of the perp?
In this day and age, there are cameras everywhere. Expect to be recorded anywhere outside your home. This guy was stupid.
>> He’s a Democrat.
I figured as much; if Republican, his party would be in the title and six places in the body.
