As Iran says it's reviewing the latest U.S. proposal to end the war, it is also attempting to formalize its control over the vital shipping lanes of the Strait of Hormuz, which were free and open prior to the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. Shipping intelligence firm Lloyd's List says the strait is now closed, as Iran says an agency it just created is in charge of clearing vessels for transit.President Trump is again voicing optimism for a peace deal, saying the war will be "over quickly" and insisting it's going "unbelievably well." Iran is either going to give Trump what he wants.....or it is going to have to deal with the military action against that defying Trump triggers.

I hope that the IDF and the US military have lots of individual targets of key hard line Iranian Politicians and IRGC officers loaded into various weapons systems read to deploy at a moment’s notice.

We went from war to end quickly to Iran firing on our ship's again and the US conducting strikes on Bandar Abbas, Qeshm and Bandar Kargan (Iran's "toll booth"), as well as sinking more small boats. This is a much better response to Iran's attacks than Tuesday's.

TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, May 7.

Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones and small boats as USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87) transited the international sea passage. No U.S. assets were struck.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes.

CENTCOM does not seek escalation but remains positioned and ready to protect American forces.

I suppose it boils down to the question of whether anyone was paying Iran for passage before Trump went to war, and whether anyone is paying for passage now.

If the answer before was no, and the answer now is yes, then ....

I suspect the "small arms" were actually crew served weapons... According to a report from CBS, citing U.S. officials, the USS Truxtun (DDG 103) and the USS Mason (DDG 87) came under intense attack from Iranian fast attack boats, drones, and missiles in an engagement that has been characterized as far fiercer than the past engagement the two vessels were involved in.

5-inch deck guns, small-arms equipped personnel on board the vessels, aircraft, and CIWS were employed to repel Iranian attacks, per reports. Despite claims from Iran that they were struck, neither was hit during the engagement.

We’ve been told they have been ‘begging for a deal’ for over a month now. The only problem is we have no idea who is doing the begging.

I spent so many years testing and developing tactics, and training to repel Iran’s swarm attacks, but they never challenged us. Looking forward to seeing after action reports, and hopefully seeing some video.
