Trump-backed candidates take out GOP incumbents in Indiana, dominate Ohio primary in big night for president
New York Post ^ | 5/6/26 | Victor Nava

President Trump proved to be a kingmaker in the Indiana and Ohio Republican primaries Tuesday night, where his seal of approval propelled several GOP candidates to landslide victories.

In Indiana, Trump’s revenge campaign against incumbent state senators who torpedoed his push last year to redraw the Hoosier state’s congressional boundaries was largely successful – with the president’s preferred candidates winning five of six contests.

A potential sixth victory for a Trump-endorsed candidate was still too close to call late Tuesday.

“Everyone in Indiana politics should have learned an important lesson today: President Trump is the single most popular Republican among Hoosier voters,” Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) said in a statement.

“Indiana is a conservative state, and we deserve conservatives in our State Senate who have a pulse on Republican voters,” he added.

Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Braun, who staunchly supported the failed redistricting effort, called it a “historic night for Indiana.”

“[R]epublicans stood with me and President Trump to nominate some great America First conservatives,” Braun wrote on X. “I look forward to winning big in November and serving Hoosiers with this team in the statehouse!”

The victories by Trump-backed candidates were decisive.

And here in Georgia we have Erick Erickson telling everyone on his syndicated radio show that nobody likes Trump and GOP needs to parrot their patriotism and not mention him.

While listening to that crap, I’m wondering, if that’s true how come nearly everyone is touting their support for President Trump on their campaigns? Even RINOs like Rick Jackson running for governor claims he is “much like President Trump.”

Republican State Senator Travis Holdman — who lost by over 20 points — isn't taking it very well.

“Revenge & retribution is not a Christian value.”

All you had to do was listen to your constituents.

Its not just Trump. The media is trying to spin it as though it were all just blind loyalty to a single man. WRONG! We are sick and tired of weak, feckless, backstabbing RINOs who do whatever the donor class wants and ignore the voter class.....the kind who constantly roll over and give the Democrats free gifts and who never really fight hard for their voters and what they believe in.

Democrats would never have just rolled over and given the Republicans 2 districts in a deep blue state when they could have gerrymandered it to make sure Republicans got zero seats. Why should Republicans not do exactly the same in Red States? Get lost you surrender monkeys.

Indiana Senate district 23 is too close to call. The incumbent, Spencer Deery is up by only 3 votes over Trump-backed Paula Copenhaver.

“All you had to do was listen to your constituents.”

At the time, they claimed they were doing just that. Here is what loser Linda Rogers had to say:

“Over the last few months, I have heard from thousands of constituents who were overwhelmingly opposed. When I chose to run for Senate District 11, I promised to serve and advocate for those in our local community, and I believe I upheld that promise today.”

She heard from “thousands of constituents” yesterday.

Ha ha.

This is a message to the Thune/McConnell branch who have run the Indiana party for years.

Mike Pence is one of these.

Looks like Ramaswamy wins and not closely either. Reserving judgement; in no case do we want a Demonrat to win.

The part near Purdue is voting for the incumbent. This will be recounted. Only 3 votes separate the two candidates.

I used to listen to Atlanta radio because the morning show was entertaining. Then Rush was on.
