Beijing's empire isn't built on factories, AI labs, or rare earths. It's built on a single nation the West spent two decades dismissing — Iran. And the day Tehran's regime falls, the entire architecture China assembled over thirty years folds inward like wet cardboard.
In this deep dive, we expose the hidden financial, energy, and geographic dependencies binding Beijing to Tehran — from the secret yuan-settled oil deals and the petroyuan experiment, to the Belt and Road's only viable land corridor, to the $9–12 billion annual "shadow fleet" subsidy quietly underwriting Chinese export manufacturing. We examine why China cannot quietly retreat from this relationship, why the 2021 $400 billion deal is really a desperate de-dollarization laboratory, and why history's empires — from the Portuguese at Hormuz to the British at Suez — always collapse at the chokepoint nobody else thought mattered.
If you care about macroeconomics, geopolitics, the future of the dollar, and the actual fault lines under the US-China rivalry, this one is for you.

At 15:00 referring to Khamenei as still alive. So take it with a grain of salt. Adjust towards the present reality, and China is in deep sh!t.
Chyna is probably the one restocking I-ran missiles, as has been reported.
Of course. On the one hand, it would be extremely foolish to go to war against China or sanction it immediately. On the other, it would be extremely foolish to ignore the problem. China’s evil, too. This war must be finished quickly, and China’s aid will help prolong it ‘til the mid-terms. Very tough challenge.
Oh no!
Thanks for the post.
Would sure be a shame, wouldn’t it. Have to make those Uigher slaves work twice as hard to keep them from getting uppity. And those Buddhists in Tibet and the Fulon Gong practitioners, why they’d go hog wild, meditating and saying Ommmm! and all, or doing their weird excercizes. How will they punish Christian dissidents for praying for their captors’ salvation, if they have to lay off the torturers.
That Trump sure is mean.
Every administration since 1949, with regard to China, and since 1979 with regard to Iran, have failed to state in stark honest terms why those states had their nationalism hijacked by political gangs who then enslaved that nationalism to hegemonic political agendas that embarked on advancing their political regimes, or the powers of, beyond their shores and making geopolitical claims that are not at all about existential national interest but are totally about advancing their political narrative on, and against others.
For examples:
Is there any truly existentially threatening aspect of Israel toward Iran and its people such that, form the beginning, the Mullahs in Tehran could claim, in the name of the national interest of Iran, that Israel was a threat to it? No. There was none. Minus the politics of the Mullah and how that politics pledged to be at war with Israel, from the inception of the Mullahs’ dictatorship, Israel was no existential threat to Iran and natural existential requirements of Iran had no legitimate need to create the proxy war against Israel via the groups Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. It was never about any natural national interest of Iran and always about the Mullahs politics and hegemonic agenda in the region.
Is the issue of the political independence of Taiwan a matter of the some existential threat to and any natural “national interest” of China? No. Taiwan is not an existential threat to China and has never been. What Taiwan is is a potential existential political threat to the dictatorship dominance of the CCP. Taiwan is a constant reminder to the people of China that ANYTHING that is good about their land and economy could be produced by and for them without the dictatorship of the CCP. For that and for no other reason does the CCP threaten Taiwan.
It would have always been and should still be best for the correct communications of the U.S. government that in all cases official references quit using the terms “Iran” or “China” and most properly say “The Mullahs in Tehran” and “The CCP” at all times. Those political gangs, not their peoples, is who are and have been contending with.
One would wonder why the Iranian Mullahs would appear to like China’s atheist leadership any better than the (more or less) Christian leaders in the west. Taqiyya, I guess.
And how is it that Muslims aligned with China, such as the Iranian Mullahs (valid correction, Jimred) fail to notice that China Communists are persecuting and enslaving the Uighers.
For that matter, the Iranian Mullahs continue the practice of the previous Iranian Pahlavis, of stealing the Ahwazis’ oil in Khuzestan, and persecuting and mistreating the Ahwazis on a continuing basis. At the same time, said Mullahs are all concerned about the Palestinians, who by comparison are better off than their own Ahwazi.
Then there’s Putin’s treatment of the Chechens.
Everything Trump has done in the last year has been to break China. Iran is their queen.
China has to be weakened obliquely, in stages. Trump’s way of going about it is the second proof that he’s a genius. The first being that every dunce in the world is in confederacy against him, per Jonathan Swift.
Exactly.
I always thought what the Japanese did to them at Nanking was evil. Now I’m beginning to think that Japan’s other enemies in Asia just might of approved of that action.
We should have taken China out during the Korean War, when they weren’t as strong a nation as they are now. Back then, they were sending peasants into Korea to kill Americans and South Koreans. How different the world might have been if China had been weakened beyond recovery.
👍🤣👏
What the Japanese did to the Chinese in WWII was evil. What the CCP has been doing to the Chinese is more evil. Mao killed more Chinese civilians in the Great Leap “Backwards” (1-2 yrs) than the Japanese military did from 1931-1945.
Actually, Japan’s invasion of China is what weakened the KMT and anything resembling democracy in China and led to the communist takeover post-1945.
“We should have taken China out during the Korean War, when they weren’t as strong a nation as they are now. “
Russia was in the way.
