Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., introduced legislation last week that would significantly expand rights for the homeless and overhaul how the government treats Americans living on the streets by siphoning billions from defense spending.
The "Unhoused Persons Bill of Rights" calls for government-led intervention to end homelessness over the next three years and introduces more than a dozen protections for homeless people.
If passed, Tlaib's legislation would include freedom of movement for homeless people in public spaces, affordable housing, "livable" wages, universal healthcare and panhandling.
Under the resolution, homeless individuals would have the "right to uninhibited access" to public parks, transportation, facilities, sidewalks, buildings, restrooms and other spaces — meaning they could legally set up camp in such public spaces.
Specifically, homeless individuals would be given protections against "banishment" from private property, which the Michigan Democrat's measure characterizes as a violation of an individual’s "fundamental civil and human rights."

LOL...as CA proved, the more you spend on "homelessness," the more "homeless" you get. Nothing attracts the big grifting Homeless-Industrial Complex more than free money.

homeless individuals would be given protections against “banishment” from private property,
I’d love a thousand to tent up on her property. Let’s see how she likes her new law she wants.
The bums pay zero taxes. We pay tons of taxes to keep our public spaces clean and safe for the enjoyment of citizens and families. Places that tolerate bums have seen public spaces completely ruined by bums.
When we lived in Palo Alto 45 years ago, the downtown parks had already been overrun by bums and their filth. You never saw ordinary people or families there. Yet Californians continue to tolerate that.
A few years back, there was a bum sleeping on the bench outside our Safeway grocery store. I called the police and got the response I expected: "There's nothing we can do. He's not breaking the law."
I had a boss in the late 70s and 80s who grew up in St. Louis in the 40s. He told us of the beat cops who would roust the bums out of doorways and parks with a swift WHACK on the feet with their billy clubs. That was the way to do it. That was long before idiots like this execrable Tlaib even thought we should have a "Bill of Rights" for bums to occupy our public spaces.
HOMELESS not “unhoused”

I saw that. I took it to mean that there are two different categories (for now, anyway).
Public space: If the bum wants the space, it’s his. Full stop.
Private space: The owner will be able to remove the bum, but it will take a court order or something like that. Just calling the cops won’t do.
Send them to Dearborn.

If my memory is accurate, that is already the case in some communist (democrat) areas.
She’s not a Scamalis but she got her own scam going , Bill Of Scam
In California, a lot of Californians with beachfront property—even celebrities—“”suffer from the homeless “camping” on their property.
Gets her the attention she craves - she hasn’t appeared in the news for awhile....
If passed, round up all the homeless in the city where her HOME is and park them in her neighborhood with access to everyone’s homes and furnishings...towels for bathing etc.
She was born in MI but her parents were Palestinian immigrants - she used to talk about her grandmother still living wherever they came from..I won’t call it Palestine!
Odd, I can find no place in Article I that authorizes Congress to pass any law regarding the homeless. I don’t even see how they can sneak it in via the interstate commerce bit, not that that has slowed them down in the past.
All things considered, I suspect that camping on public land is a natural right. Efforts to restrict it by law should be subject to strict scrutiny.
After all, we have reservations for indian tribes, why shouldn’t native American citizens be eligible for similar benefits?
All kidding aside, there’s something nefarious about the homeless issue, and I’m not talking about the people who are actually homeless.
No. Absolutely not.
Moving forward we need to move the transients & druggies into their neighborhoods.
“expand rights for the homeless “
This will expand the homeless. In the minds of the left, increasing the problem justifies increasing the policies that create the problem.
The solution is to reverse the court cases that gave us the “deinstitutionalization” of the mentally ill and hopelessly addicted indigent.
Being locked up is a powerful, possibly the most powerful, incentive to get clean and stay clean or to take your meds.
Until that happens, we are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Rights come from God, not government. So she is giving out privileges to favored classes, at the expense of everyone else.
Just call it the “Me want more fraud” bill.
There is only one USA & Radisha Tlaib need not be in it.
