Yeah, the canine handler was likely afraid of being accused of racism because of the dog.
This will go down in history as both the BEST reaction by a K-9 dog and the WORST reaction by his K-9 handler.
She had a patch of a shield on her left arm and was wearing vest that said POLICE and Secret Service underneath, which leads me to believe she and the others with the same rig were Capitol Police assigned to the Secret Service detail.
It looks like the only thing she hit was the Secret Service officer. He appears to flinch and put his left hand against his upper right shoulder/armpit area a few time. If he was shot, it might have been right on the edge of a bulletproof vest because there appeared to be no blood on his shirt or the floor.
It would look like quick response time which might have gotten her placed on the detail, but it looks like panic shooting. She could have put a knee in the perp's crotch, a shoulder into his face, kicked him in the face, or tripped him. Instead it was spray and pray.

The shooter came with a long gun clearly visible and rushed the magnetic screening while security personnel were not paying attention. Had he not tripped he could have opened fire on the crowd before being subdued. The SS obviously needs better training. I am certain there are highly trained military like Navy Seals or Delta Force who could be recruited for the Secret Service or at least train the SS agents to shoot straight.
The Big Picture here is that the shooter could have been stopped either in the room he ran out of or at the doorway IF the K-9 handler had only LISTENED to his obviously much smarter partner.

Yep. And the dipshit in the suit needs to lose his job. He never even saw the perp until the perp was by him.
Same for all the po-lice who had their back to the hallway that the perp ran down before he got to the checkpoint.
And why wasn’t the door that the perp came through guarded from the other side? How dumb and lazy are the Secret Service agents responsible for security planning???
If you notice, the police were taking down the portable metal detectors. That entire checkpoint may have been no longer in operation since all the guests were screened and in the ballroom. The agent may have only been there to make sure the equipment was retrieved.
Maybe a 5 foot barricade would have prevented the guy from running thru the checkpoint, did anyone think of that?
His shoes at about the 3:38 mark look like hipster shoes, not footwear with decent traction. At least he'd look fashionable right up until he tripped.
It might be "right at her" as the officer who fired appears to be a woman.

The “Security” were all looking around like lazy government employees, NOT doing security.

Guy runs right in front of one “Security” and that champ couldn’t put the perp down with 4 shots?

Just like the Charlie Kirk assassination, the dogs searched the area where the “supposed” murder weapon was found and didn’t find anything. THEN when told to look again, low and behold they find a gun that the dogs couldn’t find.
BS. The dogs would have 100% found the gun if it had been there when they searched.

One VERY IMPORTANT detail from the press conference was that this happened a FLOOR ABOVE the banquet. He wasn’t even on the same floor.
He was NEVER going to make it to the ballroom.
