The acting U.S. ambassador to Kyiv Julie Davis will step down from her post and retire, a U.S. official and the State Department said on Tuesday, amid a lull in U.S.-brokered talks to achieve a ceasefire and end Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Financial Times first reported Davis' departure and said it was because of differences of opinion with President Donald Trump's policies and that Davis had grown frustrated with her role over his dwindling support for Ukraine.
A career member of the U.S. Foreign Service with more than three decades of experience, Davis assumed her duties as charge d'affaires in Ukraine in May 2025 after her predecessor Bridget Brink, also a career diplomat, resigned over her objections to Trump's Ukraine policy.

I see the problem right here. Every department is loaded with these creatures. It’s highly likely these “career members” all hate President Trump. Time to get serious about purging them.
Someone needs to go through these bloated, parasite breeding grounds with a chainsaw. They vote 90% Donk and are a pox on the nation as well as a financial drain on us.

The way this administration works, with its complete disdain for competence, experience or qualifications, the replacement will likely be a twenty something who’s failed every geography exam, never even holidayed out of state, couldn’t find Ukraine on a map, but passes the criteria of absolutely worshipping the ground that Trump walks on and who is happy to just parrot whatever they’re told to parrot.
The strategy seems to work just fine with real estate grifters and modestly successful journalists / media influencers going off to negotiate around the world and largely having the receiving countries play them like fiddles.

It was her job to advocate the US position to Ukraine. Not advocate for Ukraine to the US. So it’s best she left.
