A man who is running for Indiana Senate District 31 in the upcoming primary is facing charges after police allegedly found cocaine in his car in Fishers.
Andrew Dezelan, 39, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and resisting law enforcement.
The Fishers Police Department said officers responded to a person that was soliciting a neighborhood in the 13000 block of Ravenswood Trail, near East 136th Street and Atlantic Road in Fishers, around 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26.
Police said they found Dezelan in his vehicle at the neighborhood's clubhouse.
When the responding officer asked Dezelan why he was in the neighborhood, he wouldn't give a clear answer.
Dezelan claimed that he received permission from an HOA board member.
According to court documents, the responding officer said they noticed that Dezelan had been speaking quickly; making very quick, nervous and unorganized movements; he was visibly sweating and his pupils were "pinpoint."
Court documents say all of these are typical signs of someone who is under the influence of drugs.
When the officer asked for his ID, Dezelan allegedly said that he "needed to leave" and tried to put his vehicle in reverse.
According to court documents, the responding officer told Dezelan to stop and get out of his vehicle, and then, the officer opened the door and grabbed Dezelan's left wrist.
Court documents say Dezelan continued "frantically moving around," placing one leg out of the vehicle like he was going to get out before putting it back inside the vehicle.
The responding officer ultimately pulled Dezelan out of the vehicle to place him in handcuffs.

“Bit@h set me up!” ~Marion Berry, Washington DC Mayor.
The dead give away was they didn’t immediately identify him as a republican.
Obviously, when party affiliation is not anywhere near the top, even in conservative Indiana.
Duly noted here as well
A story about a primary candidate and no party mentioned in the entire story. A great example of the pervasive media bias that is at stage 4.
Nothing the democrats wouldn’t do in the Whitehouse? So what’s the beef?
placing one leg out of the vehicle like he was going to get out before putting it back inside the vehicle
So, doing the “cokey pokey”, one assumes...
Agreed. But the article honored the Coulter Rule and showed his face because he's white.
Nice one
Yes, the other party would be prominently mentioned.
We cannot let the media people get away with what they do.
Tuxes and gowns and waiting for lobster and steaks to arrive at the ball, or not.
His first words in court: “Things go better with Coke.”
Judge: “I’m letting you go without charges today but switch to Dr. Pepper.”
I noticed that.
Former “Policy Director” for the Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus, facing 3 other Dems in a May 5 primary for State Senate Disctrict 31.
So, which of his three Dem opponents called in the tip?
I didn’t read the whole article. I knew he wasn’t a Democrat because I got to the end of the excerpt and his affiliation wasn’t disclosed. If he wereGOP, it would be in para 1 or 2
Campaigns are expensive. He needed a second job.

He really doesn’t do cocaine he just likes the smell.
Local NBC affiliate WTHR, Indy, is getting slammed for this expected omission of his political party on Facebook.
“Cokey pokey”
😆 😆
Brilliant
Cocaine is still a thing? How 1980s of him.
