In what must be the mother of all cons, Democrats are raking in the votes and expect to take the House at midterms with their buzzword 'affordability,' which first popped up during the successful Zohran Mamdani New York City mayoral campaign and has been on a roll since.
It's a flim-flam.
They plan to focus on impeaching President Trump on Day One, something they aren't saying much about on the national news or in their commercials, and if they retake the Senate and nuke the filibuster, get Trump thrown out of office.
That's their plan, that's their agenda, even as they make pretty talk about 'affordability' to win over gullible voters.
According to Axios:
A cohort of resistance-minded House Democrats is pushing their colleagues to begin building the case against President Trump now in anticipation of a Day 1 impeachment vote if they retake the House.
Why it matters: The mere existence of this movement demonstrates just how much pressure lawmakers who have not yet gotten on board with impeachment will face in January of 2027.

- The Illinois Democrat said the party should "build up the case so that when we are in power in January, we've created the conditions ... we've done the fact-checking, we've done the shadow hearings, everything we need to be able to to impeach [Trump]."
- Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.) told Axios that if Democrats recapture the House "the push for impeachment is going to be overwhelming."
So while they seek to tell voters they're changed men, they just want America to be 'affordable' again, what they really want is Get Trump,

Democrats are really confident of taking the House just because that is the way it always works. Barring any major cheating (yeah, I know), I think the GOP will keep the House.
I would think they would:
Create more debt
Increase illegal immigration
Endorse more fraud
Raise taxes
Make more eligible for welfare
Forgive more student loans
Etc.
I agree they’d like to do all that, but won’t for at least two years. Trump would veto any such legislation
Even then that put Vance in the president’s chair and he can run as an incumbent with 2 full terms ahead of him.

That puts the Speaker of the House in the White House?
Kalshi and Polymarket have the probability of Democrat takeover of Congress at 86%. The Democrats are currently frenzied, so that makes it likely they will win. Two years of letting their freak flag fly sets us up better for 2028.
What charges against Vance? I also feel an immediate attempt to impeach Vance would fail as a vendetta and cold rally some passive standby’s.
What charges against Trump?
The hatred they have sold over the last 12 years. They haven’t hated Vance long enough.

The “charges” are meaningless.
As long as they get the necessary votes, the President will be impeached, no matter who is office.

I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t get 2/3 of the Senate to convict, so this is just more of the performative crap from the theater kids
Impeach away, WHO CARES!
They’ll never get 67 votes in the Senate to remove. They might get the 5 asshole Senators though (Makowski, Paul, Collins, DeCrapo, Cornyn if he survives).
Democrats would show how incredibly stupid they really are if they waste time carrying on about impeaching a lame duck President.
There are actual Trump voters that say they hate Trump’s behavior and personality but they would still vote for him over the wokey, idiot, border opening. taxation loving, economically ignorant, democrat and leftist opposition.
That isn’t saying much. The democrats have a whole lot of rehabilitation to their current image to win in 2028.
Doing nothing for the country other than continuing the non stop Trump hate isn’t going to do that for them. People will want to see something good from these whackos other than “we hate the guy, let’s impeach him over and over for two years”.
Gingrich had a pro-Cornyn commercial a couple of days ago. More of his signature “find a parade and run to the front of it” BS.
Perhaps another Trump impeachment might be a saving grace. The Democrats and their likely slim majority will be so consumed with the impeachment of Trump that they will do nothing else. The voters will quickly become sick of their antics and the 24/7 media frenzy. Even if the Democrats get a slight majority in the Senate Trump will not be removed from office.
