TEHRAN/ANKARA: Iran has inflicted more “extensive” damage to United States bases and equipment in the Middle East since the start of US and Israeli strikes against Iran on February 28, NBC News reported on Saturday, citing sources.
The report said that the damages from Iran’s retaliatory strikes against US military bases in seven Middle Eastern countries were “far worse than publicly acknowledged and is expected to cost billions of dollars to repair”.
Iran has hit dozens of targets, including warehouses, command headquarters, aircraft hangars, satellite communications infrastructure, runways, high-end radar systems and dozens of aircraft, the report said.
It added that Iran used missiles, drones and even F-5 fighter jets to target US bases in the region, despite previous claims by US authorities that the Iranian air force had failed to use fighter jets against American targets.
The Pentagon has not detailed the extent of the damage to US military bases publicly, according to the report, with US Central Command declining to comment on battle damage assessments.
According to the report, some Republican lawmakers privately expressed their dissatisfaction with senior Pentagon officials for refusing to provide information on the extent of the damage or a cost estimate for repairs.
“No one knows anything. And it’s not for lack of asking,” one congressional aide was quoted by NBC News as saying. “We have been asking for weeks and not getting specifics, even as the Pentagon is asking for a record high budget.”
The report mentioned that the damage to and cost of repairing the bases could reignite a debate over the merits of maintaining US bases in such close proximity to an adversary like Iran.

Also, for whatever it's worth, images and commentary regarding the damage inflicted by Iran to our bases in the Middle East have been swirling around Twitter since at least early March.
Pakistan Today is not a trustworthy source. Iran has barely damaged our bases.
We'll see what the aar says in due time.
almost 400 injured US troops:
NBC, Pakistan Today? Why not go straight to Pravda or Al Jazerra?
Send Israel the bill.
NBC source VIA the Paks???
The BS meter is at 80%...
I also heard we lost hundreds of missiles when they slammed into buildings in downtown Tehran.
No doubt damage was done but not as much as claimed by these sources. Half of the deaths was in the air refueling collision that took place early in the campaign. But what is the purpose for sighting theses reports?

Payback is a bitch IRGC..
I heard that they also struck the cemetery back in March and the IRGC is STILL digging up victims! It’s horrible!
They forgot to report all of the aircraft carriers that they sank.
But again, none of the information posted here is new, strictly speaking: "Internet randos" (to coin a phrase) have been talking about it on Twitter for nearly two months now. (After all, obtaining before-and-after satellite images is not that difficult in this day and age.)
NBC's report literally cites the American Enterprise Institute in their reporting, and they can hardly be claimed as being akin to Pravda or Al Jazeera.
So sue me if I don't think it's a bad thing to get more information about retaliatory damages in a conflict that was sold to the American public as something which would be 'quick and easy'.

Rooting for the other side, eh?
Agreed. These are untrustworthy sources.
Still, I would not be surprised to learn that we did not broadcast our losses during war time.
And what are we to do? Wait for them to build more and better drones, missiles and nuclear weapons? Fund their military terrorist ambitions as Obama and Biden did?
This was war and it remains war. The only question in my mind is, how to we escalate?
Hard to trust that stuff.
Do you think Muslims will be nice once we throw our only real ally under the bus?
