My wife and I (well, mostly my wife!) took care of her brother for 6 months last year in our home before he passed. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but I imagine for those where it is, there might be some state/government help?

Little did I know we could have just called ourselves “PDQ Hospice” and received millions of dollars!

Gee, that’s funny. No one has called?

Maybe they’re still learing how to use the telephone.

Too bad DOGE was a scam. Probably half the federal budget is fraudulent at this point.

If they stole that much in an “on” year I wonder how much they stole during the “off” years.

They are in LA county. Last audit of LA showed a roughly 50% fraud rate in their spending.

LA county budget is about 50 billion dollars a year .

About 20% of that spending goes to civic duties (usually ignored) like keeping the roads in order, the electricity and water flowing , the police and fire, government and things like that . If we assume minimal fraud in that sector (poor assumption) then we are left with about 40 billion dollars in California's oh so generous government social welfare transfer payments - of which at least 50% is fraud.

That's 20 billion dollars a year in fraud in LA county alone .

Government fraud is one of California's leading industries and stealing taxpayer money is the primary goal of California politicians. .

I imagine the thieves have been told to lay low because the heat is somewhat on.

Oz needs to setup a squealers hotline. You get $100000 for calling out thieves stealing Federal HHS money via phony medical and daycare childcare scams.

90% of these thieves are legal/illegal immigrants and fake refugees. The need Federal prosecution, 5 years prison time, full restitution, finally deportation.

And I’m pretty sure I know why .

Our ca. AG was on tv news boasting about prosecuting some of these fraudster while on the same day his wife was pro.oti g a ca. bill to prevent these fraudster from being caught out and exposed by the likes of Nick Shirley

Ca fraudsters are just laying low for now and waiting for this bill to pass before cranking up the fraud and kickback machine of organized crime.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZT6te7nlFk

RT 11 m. 31 s

California just passed a bill that could put journalists like me in jail for filming government fraud.

It’s called Assembly Bill 2624. And it’s the most dangerous attack on the First Amendment this state has ever tried to pull off.

Here’s what AB 2624 actually does: If you show up and film a government-funded organization — even in public — they can send you a written demand to take the video down.

If you refuse — $10,000 fine.
A year in county jail.
And your video gets forcibly deleted.

No court.

No trial.

No journalist exemption.

Just a letter from the same people committing the fraud.

The bill is authored by Assemblymember Mia Bonta — Democrat, Assembly District 18, Oakland — Chair of the Assembly Health Committee. Her husband? California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

The same man whose job is to prosecute the exact fraud his wife is now writing laws to hide.

This bill exists because 24-year-old independent journalist Nick Shirley exposed $6 billion in annual fraud inside government-funded programs — fake daycares, fake hospices, fake learning centers — all stealing your tax dollars.

His videos got 42 million views. So California’s response wasn’t to fix the fraud. It was to silence the journalists exposing it.

This bill has NOT passed yet. It still has to clear more committees and reach the Governor’s desk. But it’s moving fast — and it can still be stopped.

My understanding is that whistle-blowers already have a method via the False Claims Act to do this and get a % of recovered monies?
