Vice President JD Vance's anti-fraud task force has shut down nearly 500 hospices and home health agencies in Los Angeles alone, Fox News reported.
The figure includes 447 hospices and 23 home health agencies. Collectively, the facilities accounted for roughly $600 million in public funds fraud.
President Donald Trump officially named Vance his "fraud czar" earlier this month, following a series of raids in LA that saw federal authorities target many hospices in the area.
“Where there is fraud, the task force will find it,” a Vance spokesperson told the outlet. “We will not stop until every hard-earned taxpayer dollar goes toward the honest Americans who deserve them.”

How can a Vice President have authority to do this in a state?
These fraudsters are probably killing their ever living patients right now.
Some might be real.
How about the “fraud czar” start weeding out Congress of the fraud members who reside there??
For example, how does a “mom in tennis shoes” (a.k.a. Patty Murray) amass so much wealth on a senator’s salary? San Fran Nan (pelosi) is the tip of that iceberg. And there are lots more icebergs to melt.
My guess? The alleged "hospices" were defrauding the fed govt, and the direction of the VEEP (who's doing this at the direction of DJT) the DOJ is the agency doing the excellent work.

why are there not 447 corresponding arrests?
its federal money
Granted by the President, in regards groups that accept federal funds.
They likely aren’t “shuttered”, but more likely cut off from funds.
Vance has just been “Fraud Czar for a month
Picking the low hanging fruit
O, the hugh manatee! Where are non-existent people not going to go to not die?
Federal dollars were/are stolen.
Let them sue.
There are lots in Phoenix.

How about letting the hard-working American KEEP THEIR MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE????
Home health company fraud is the easiest thing in the world to commit. (I was a home health RN for many years.) All you have to do is have a doctor or two who will sign off on care plans, a nurse or two to write up the 485’s (the care plans), and someone to falsify nurse, aide, and or therapy visits. Illegally “enroll” Medicare patients, and you’re good to go. Now that’s fraud created out of whole cloth. You can also have a legitimate home health company that over-assess patient problems. I worked at one company that would always boost their patients vision assessments to a higher paying level. I’d write up the 485 based on my admission assessment, and the secretary would type it up, but that vision assessment would always be increased on the printed form. Then when I proof read it, I would make the proper correction, but they would leave it uncorrected. As soon as I realized what they were doing, I refused to sign the 485. (They are required to be signed by the RN who does the assessment). Needless to say, I quit that job after a short time. Not long after that, they were found by Medicare to be in violation. Big deal. They fined them a few thousand dollars. A drop in the bucket for what that company was making.

Fraudster states don’t defraud themselves.
It’s Medicare who pays the companies.

If the hospice facilities are receiving federal funds (which I assume they are) then the federal government would have the right to stop funds from going to fake medical facilities that do not actually provide services to any patients.
Yup, just like malignant tumors don't seem to cure cancer.
And that’s the problem
Feds shouldn’t be involved.
Republicans and Democrats will not stop funding these stupid block grants. And no oversight.
I can’t play the game with parties since it’s one Uniparty.

Lol - exactly zero patients impacted the closures.
