Republican Paul Dans exits the Senate race, endorses Mark Lynch (consolidating against Graham)

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham has one less opponent in his Republican primary race after Truth Social posts by President Donald Trump targeted his competitors.

Graham, who has been endorsed by Trump, was set to face six other Republicans in the 2026 South Carolina primary elections on June 9. Greenville businessman Mark Lynch and Project 2025 author Paul Dans were two of his key challengers. Dans announced he was leaving the race on April 10.

Trump went on the offensive with Truth Social posts on April 10 — to amplify Graham's reelection campaign while criticizing his opponents.

In one post, Trump claimed that Dans dropped out of the Senate race and called conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson's endorsement of Dans the "kiss of death" for his campaign.

Dans confirmed his departure from the race in a post on X, stating that Carlson's endorsement had no connection to his decision to drop out of the race. In his post, Dans offered his full support for Lynch as he challenges Graham in the primary.

"I did it because we cannot Make America Great Again until Lady Graham is taken out of office," Dans wrote. "@MarkLynchSC has the resources to make that happen."

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Not sure if it's enough to defeat worthless Lindsey "hang out at Disney by myself" Graham.

But it helps.

Primary is in June.

It’s a well known tactic by the RINO’s to pay numerous other RINO’s to flood the field (and pretend they are conservative). This way, the one true conservative candidate is overwhelmed and easier to defeat by the incumbent. Lindsey “Gacy” Graham has been doing this in EVERY election. He also has the advantage that South Carolina allows “open” elections (a voter can vote for anyone in any party during a primary).

Read the headline...literally the opposite event from the one you described is occurring.

The real obstacle to removing Lindsey Graham from office is Donald J. Trump

Exactly. I don’t trust Lynch. I think he is another Massie or Tillis. Better Graham than another rat.

It isn’t going to help. Graham can wave Trump’s endorsement around under people’s noses like its candy.

Graham met with a foreign head of state to provide counsel on how to manipulate a sitting president, if that ain’t treason nothing is. Anyone else is preferable.

Imagine an election cycle that took out John Cornyn, Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham. Along with retirements from Mitch McConnell and Thom Tillis. That would be impressive.
