Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced this morning (Sunday) that Liran Avissar Ben Horin and Keren Turner will join his party's list in the upcoming elections. The two, who previously served as CEOs in key government ministries, are the first former prime minister to present as part of the "Bennett 2026" list.
Liran Avishar Ben Horin served as Director General of the Ministry of Communications between 2020 and 2023. During her tenure, she led the privatization of the Israel Post Company, promoted the fiber optic deployment plan, and worked to deregulate the communications sector.
For the past year and a half, Avishar Ben Horin has headed Bennett's team, which is responsible for formulating the plans he plans to implement if he succeeds in becoming prime minister. The party's statement claimed that the project "involved experts and senior officials from the public service and academia in Israel and the United States, including 23 practical work plans designed to change the trends defined by the party as endangering Israel."
Karen Turner served as Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Director General of the Ministry of Finance between 2016 and 2020. According to the party's announcement, during her time at the Ministry of Transportation, she led the light rail projects in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, the establishment of two international seaports, and promoted digitization in the ministry's services
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett welcomed the joining of "two of the best female CEOs in Israel" and said: "Israel is stuck and unmanaged, and we don't have time." He added that with the professional team, the party "will make the fastest jump Israel has seen."
Avishar Ben Horin added that the work plans that were built are ready to go ahead on the first day of the government's formation. Turner noted that she intends to correct what she defined as neglect and weakening of the public service. "We saw even more strongly after October 7 the cost of dysfunctional state systems,"
