New exposé claims California lost at least $180B to fraud under Gavin Newsom

Medi-Cal, unemployment and general welfare fraud are the three main sources, according to journalist Chris Rufo

A journalist who claims that California has lost at least $180 billion due to fraud joined "Will Cain Country" to share the findings of his exposé entitled "Gavin Newsom's Empire of Fraud."

Chris Rufo of City Journal co-authored the piece. He told host Will Cain on Tuesday that California's fraud stems from three main sources: Medi-Cal fraud, unemployment fraud and general welfare fraud.

"And if you add these all together, under Gavin Newsom, experts and HHS officials estimate that California has lost somewhere between $180 and $280 billion. Now that's like the GDP of New Zealand. It's a lot of money," said Rufo.

The sheer scale of the problem is more than the federal government can handle given currently allocated resources, he added, expressing frustration with the lack of accountability.

"The ugly reality, and this is a criticism, frankly, of the federal government right now under President Trump, is that they're going to have to significantly scale up these efforts if they want to deter fraud in the future," Rufo said.

He said he hopes to spur additional action through his reporting, and that a big area of focus for him has been California's in-home care program.

The program is intended to help support those who cannot work because they must provide full-time care for a loved one. But Rufo said it has become the most common job in the state.

But we non-Californians already knew this.

Giving Joe Pedo Biden’s 20 million freeloading illegal alien knuckledraggers “a better life” gets pretty expensive. You gotta steal a lot of money from somewhere. They are the future RAT voters.

I think they added too many zeros.

$280 MILLION....not $280 BILLION:

Paul Richard Randall, 66, of Orange, California, has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud after local authorities say he billed Medi-Cal, California’s version of Medicaid, more than $269 million and was paid out more than $178 million for “19 expensive, non-contracted drugs containing low-cost, generic ingredients that were not medically necessary, not provided, or both.”

I expect fraud in CA to be very, extremely, hugely shocking.

But this data even surprises me.

$280 million is a drop in the bucket. I’m sure it’s $180 Billion.

180 billion is way to low .

Ro Khanna has already set the low ball floor for California State Fraud and that is $75 billion a year

Newsome has been in office 8 years so we are looking at more like 600 billion

So the annual budget is nearly 50% fraudulent? I don’t believe that.

I can just see his Presidential ad campaign slogan:

GAVIN NEWSOM! HE'LL DO FOR AMERICA WHAT HE'S DONE FOR CALIFORNIA! (Flames behind it, and money flowing away like lava)

Thank you for referencing that article bitt.

The sheer scale of the problem is more than the federal government can handle given currently allocated resources, he added, expressing frustration with the lack of accountability [??? emphasis added].

The lack of accountability?

The following excerpt from the California constitution requires an accurate statement of receipts and expenditures of public monies to be published.

Article XVI, California Constitution (Scroll to bottom of Section 3 above Section 3.5)

An accurate statement of the receipts and expenditures of public moneys shall be attached to and published with the laws at every regular session of the Legislature.

Using California as an example of alleged fraud, patriots in all the states need to keep in mind this midterm election year that the very corrupt, post-16th and 17th Amendment ratification Congress is evidently not doing its constitutionally enumerated duty to guarantee each state a republican form of government and support Trump47 with a new dream Congress for his last two years in office.

Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government [emphasis added], and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
