This GA-14 Special Election is required to replace Majorie-Taylor Greene who quit (er, retired) in January 2026 after disagreements with Pres Trump.
Fuller is expected to win - the region was easily won by MTG in 2022 and 2024.
Previously, for this same general House District area, Larry McDonald was the northwest GA Representative killed by Soviet rocket fire in KAL 007 in 1983. Newt Gingrich began his House Career in this District, then Bob Barr begin his campaigns serving the area. Barry Loudermilk serves the neighboring House district - He was shot in Washington while practicing for a House baseball game.
The District boundaries have changed several times: The current district extends generally to the north and west of Marietta GA towards Rome and the AL-GA border.

Decision Desk HQ just called it to Fuller.
Nice to see Republicans show up to vote.

“Newt Gingrich began his House Career in this District,”
Not really germane to what’s happening tonight, but this is 100% incorrect. Not even close to the truth.
BTW the Democrats will be claiming another “morrull victurry” because their DEI Officer got a higher % of the vote than most Rats do here. The GOP underachieved significantly again but this district was WAY too Republican to actually lose and Democrats knew they had no real chance.
By November this district will be totally safe again and Fuller will win by 30 points or so.
They can spend the rest of tonight crowing about their (probable) landslide win in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, but they never had any chance in GA-14.
Yes, but it’s over. The final margin will be higher for Fuller.
Neighboring Districts in NW GA whose borders regularly shift with population increases since 1983. And GA re-districting shenanigans down in Atlanta to screw up conservatives.
When we first got to Kennesaw, Gingrich was our Rep.
When Gingrich was first elected to Congress in the 1970s his district did not even contain ONE county which is currently in GA-14; the article is completely wrong about their Gingrich factoid.
Newt did not represent any part of Cobb County until 1992, when Democrat redistricters rotated his district from being basically west of Atlanta to entirely new territory to the north. They almost got him, too.
Not in the general election, but in the 1992 primary where Democrat $$$ (and Democrat votes in the *open* primary) almost sunk Newt in favor of a more squishy Republican. After that, he was safe for as long as he continued to run.
Excellent news!
GOP up 17K at the moment. Only two counties still counting.
Terrible disappointment in Newt.
Buh bye, Margie. It was ... hmmm, can’t think of an appropriate word.
