Iran rejects latest ceasefire proposal as Trump’s deadline approaches

Iran on Monday rejected a 45-day ceasefire proposal and said it wants a permanent end to the war, even as Israel attacked a major gas field and U.S. President Donald Trump’s ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz loomed.

“We only accept an end of the war with guarantees that we won’t be attacked again,” Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, head of Iran’s diplomatic mission in Cairo, told The Associated Press. He said Iran no longer trusts the Trump administration after the U.S. bombed the Islamic Republic twice during previous rounds of talks.

Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency said Tehran conveyed its response through Pakistan, a key mediator.

And yet a regional official involved in talks said efforts had not collapsed. “We are still talking to both sides,” he said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss closed-door diplomacy.

Ferdousi Pour said Iranian and Omani officials were working on a mechanism for administrating the strait, through which a fifth of the world’s oil is shipped in peacetime. Iran’s grip on it has shaken the world economy. Tehran has refused to let U.S. and Israeli vessels through after they started the war on Feb. 28.

And I was wondering why the market went from slightly in the plus side into the red in just a few minutes...

Playing the delay game. I suspected they would do this. They were never serious about negotiating.

Let them watch it all burn. Don’t talk to them again until it’s all on fire and that’s the only light they have.

Fake news. I was told they are desperate to make a deal. Besides, we won like three weeks ago.

Why our market responds negatively to us saying no to terrorists boggles my mind.

These are terrorists. They are saying that they want control over things that aren’t theirs. Even their Muslims neighbors are going to be bullied.

Anyone who’s been in an abusive relationship understands this. The abuse will never stop.

If we leave them in even slight control of that strait they’ll take that inch and the mile after it.

The status quo can not continue. I didn’t care about how eloquent our president is, and how refined and gentle previous presidents were.

We are smacking our abusers to the ground. Standing up for ourselves. When that happens we say the f word more often. We spit when we talk. And we’re done being the floor mat of the world.

We are not becoming evil that’s what an abuser says about those they abuse standing up for themselves. We are finally saying “no more”.

And sometimes we move out of the nice house and into a tent to get away.

We’re going to move into a tent now. Things are expensive. We have to make bread instead of buying it. But like all abuse victims we’ll get back on our feet.

As I said on another post....It doesn’t matter.

It’s not in Iran’s nature to capitulate in any way.

I know President Trump knows that as well....it’s just a necessary formality before the next phase of taking out the bridges and power stations.

Since iran has now let its intentions be known, I say move up the time table and begin today.

Surrender. That would be my terms. I certainly would not have the reserve Trump has since I have a very clear understanding of what islam is, what they have done and what they are doing now.

If Trump or his advisors ever thought a deal was possible, then they it was an egregious misjudgment.

Trump nailed it in his his SOTU when he said “those people are crazy”.

And he was talking about this nation’s domestic terrorist party.

The terrorist party in Iran has to be “crazier”.

Crazy people don’t do deals, not Schumer, not Putin, not Z and certainly not the regime remnants in Iran.

Why should they? According to Steve Bannon and his CIA analyst, Iran has the initiative, has got the United States pinned down in an “escalatory trap.”

I kid you not.

What these deep thinkers can’t think of is if Iran is so undefeatable and intractable after being bombed into smithereens, then how much more dangerous are they when they have nuclear tipped ICBMs.

It is such a waste of time to talk to creatures who do not have the normal attributes of humans. First eliminate all capability to project terrorist activities outside the physical borders of the country and have the phone go to voice mail until that time. Unfortunately, the State Department can never figure that out.

God willing, I would change their history even if it means a little girl has to come running out and surrender for the nation...whatever it takes.
