Top aides have privately made the case to President Trump in recent days that Iran’s power-generating facilities and bridges are legitimate military targets because destroying them could cripple the country’s missile and nuclear programs, officials say.
Trump embraced the rationale, sharply questioned by legal experts and human-rights groups, in a nationwide address Wednesday when he vowed to bomb Iran “back to the stone ages.”
By Saturday, as an urgent rescue mission was under way to find a missing U.S. aviator whose aircraft was shot down in Iran, the president showed no signs of backing down on the new strategy.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” he posted on Truth Social. “Time is running out—48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them.”

Aim for whatever is necessary for regime change. If the Islamic Republic government rules over a country of rubble, we will have lost the war because they will still throw those broken rocks and bricks at us until they can get something deadlier. I would much rather turn a working country over to the new Shah.
So we go from trying to help the Iranians change their government to bombing them into oblivion and destroying their infrastructure and leaving 93 million people in absolute misery because of our Own arrogance that we can do this with impunity.

I don't agree with attacking strictly civilian-use facilities.
That said, if a bridge is open for military use - or even use by thug squads - or oil is being pumped for military use or to sell to fund the military machine then those are fair targets.
The best way for Iran to protect dual-use facilities is to end the war through negotiations with President Trump.
Iran needs to take steps right now to wrap this thing up this evening.
It’s an attempted oil theft operation that is failing badly. As it should. Biblically, theft is wrong. There are 10 rules listed in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5:6 that should help out all Freepers. Some guy also came along and said: “Not one jot or title shall be done away from my father’s law”
Somewhere there must be logic in that strategy. Right?
I am so disgusted with those rooting for such a path. The short term and long term consequences will not be good for the U.S.
