U.S. dollar bills will bear President Donald Trump's signature to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, the Treasury Department said, a first for a sitting president.
Trump's signature will be placed on all U.S. paper currency and will replace the Treasurer of the United States' signature on U.S. money for the first time in 165 years. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the move will recognize the Trump administration's "historic achievements."

When I was a kid full size candy bars were 5¢.
So with one dollar you could buy 20 full size Hershey bars.
The price remained at 5¢ until 1969.
Today the cost of a full size Hershey bar is around $2.
Now 20 Hershey bars would cost $40 or more.
So whan purchasing a candy bar the 2026 dollar has only about 1/40 or 2.5% of the 1969 dollar.
In this example the dollar has lost 97.5% or more of its purchasing power.
That's how much value our incompetent and corrupt congress and federal government have stolen from us in a little over 55 years.

I have never claimed - nor would I pretend - I am any kind of true believer in DJT. I voted for him 3 times - and yes, I mean “just” 3 times because I had more preferred choices in both the the 2016 and 2024 primaries (and yes, in 2020? In an open primary state? I took a rat ballot to try to both pick some least bad options and do a little operation chaos). But, I accepted the primary results and voted the way I did because the alternative was worse. It ALWAYS has been, my entire life.
But - I don’t live in a bubble.
Mostly right-leaning friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc - but I’m sure people here would call them RINOs. I’m a lot more political than most of them, but I try to do my part and use whatever influence or convincing I can to get them to vote the *RIGHT* way.
And crap like this? Especially with a really tough midterm coming up?
I’m already gritting my teeth because the ONLY people who like it are people whose votes were written in stone 2 months, 2 years, 10 years ago.
EVERYBODY else will be varying of degrees “Maybe the (lefitsts) are right...”
And now, rather than simply focusing on the simplest, best reasons - lower taxes, less regulation, etc - it will be this kind of crap to fight through.
