Russia Just Delivered a Big Message to Iran About What It Should Do in Response to the U.S.

Democrats are furious that President Donald Trump took action against Iran with Operation Epic Fury.

But one of the things that you wouldn't hear from them is how his action puts paid to one of their favorite fictions about Trump - the Russia collusion fiction, that Trump is somehow in the pocket of Russia. Well, he's pounding one of their principal allies, which he would not do if he were in Putin's pocket. So once again, the Democrat narrative gets blown up.

Trump said he was in talks with an Iranian leader that were productive, and for that reason, he said he held off on hitting one of their power plants. He said he would postpone that for five days to see what the talks brought. Iran denied they were in talks, but they would, since it would hurt one of their few points of leverage - the effect on the markets. Plus, any leader might hold off on saying anything until he brought a deal in, so he wasn't targeted by anyone who might not want to make a deal.

But now Russia has reportedly weighed in and is calling for a political settlement.

They apparently want this done and don't want their oil supply at risk. They also know ultimately that if the U.S. wins and in the process ends the regime in Iran, they could be up a creek without a paddle, just like what happened with Venezuela.

“We believe that the situation should have transitioned to a political and diplomatic settlement,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov tells journalists at a briefing.

“This is the only thing that can effectively contribute to defusing the catastrophically tense situation that has now developed in the region,” Peskov says.

In addition to what's going on with Iran, Russia is juggling its own issues, and the energy situation just got a little worse for them.

Russia’s largest oil port was crippled in a massive air attack by Ukrainian drones, officials said early Monday as images showed huge balls of fire.

Several strikes blew up huge swathes of the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk — which processes at least a million barrels of oil per day in a market already crippled with rising prices over the Iran war.

Drones struck fuel storage tanks at the port — home to Russia’s clandestine network of so-called “shadow ships” — with satellite pictures showing smoke rising from several areas of the key terminal.

So they're not going to want to be juggling Iran at the same time. That's going to add more pressure on Iran to settle if they're getting pressed by Russia. That may also be an indication that Russia knows Iran can't prevail.

Funny how dealing with Trump is like having their heads in a vice.

Not as easy as trampling Joe Tater.

“”””US is striking China proxies, Venezuela, Iran and Cuba.

This is like Reagan’s peace thru strength. China so desperately wants Tiawan. All we heard for the last several years was how immanent Chinas attack was. Don’t hear it so much anymore.

China has been at war with the USA for years. Just not a open war. But politician would say it because they were making a ton of money. Probably why McTurtle hates President Trump so much. I am convinced her is control to a extent by the Chinese thru his wife.

Yeah I knew that I had misspelled it about one millisecond after I hit the post button; and I also knew that there would be at least one imperious spell checker along to chastise me severely for such a terrible infraction.

But it’s one of those strange words in English that has the same sound with each spelling but with an entirely different meaning. For foreigners such as yourself it’s probably exasperating to have to deal with such oddities, similar to the no/know problem. Thus you fixate on it since no doubt it was a sticking point in learning the language.

But for us native speakers it’s not that much of a standout. Just one of those things that flies under the radar until a little cartoon balloon pops up at the end of the typing when the spell checker in our minds has a little spazz attack and flags the problem. Normally not a big thing, just back up and correct.

But not in the day and age of online forums where the Post click can signal finality…and thus the Great Question: do I post the exculpatory correction post, or just live with and wait to see if anyone Notices and then jumps on the opportunity to triumphantly identify it?

Choosing the latter meant of course that I knew it would be one of a small subset of petty police who lurk here…but who precisely?

And now we know. And thus we will have yet another name to add to the list of infamous ignobles.

And having said all that, how do you know it wasn’t intentional, a subtle double entendre?

I will leave you to ponder such, as it was in my mind when I decided not to post a correction….

...China so desperately wants Taiwan....

Cannot mount an attack on Taiwan without energy to power ur boats and planes.

You can still have ur soldiers float over on Junks.

The junk is the traditional sailing ship of China. It is an efficient design that is fast, easy to handle and able to sail upwind. Its most distinguishing feature are sails divided into a number of horizontal panels by bamboo slats (battens). These give the sail better aerodynamics and allow reducing the sail area for different wind conditions. Chinese ships also developed many other features before the west, for example: the stern mounted rudder, multiple masts, water-tight hull sections and the magnetic compass.

My point was that China stands no chance against Tiawan. The Chinese stuff was destroyed in Iran without any noticeable defense. It was pretty much just ignored in Argentina. China has to be looking at how well their stuff preformed against USA equipment and thinking shoot the USA is supplying Tiawan’s equipment. Especially when you look at Ukraine and realize that the Russian equipment they copied is not doing so well.

I hesitated to pounce on your egregious error. It occurred to me that just perhaps you left it as a setup to lure the impervious spell-checker. So I let it play itself out. Sure enough, along came the petty spelling police to duly chastise you. It didn’t take long, and the game was afoot. They fell into your cunning trap. Whereas I had deftly sniffed out your ploy and side-stepped it! Try a little harder necks time.
