The seeming impasse over funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is causing havoc in the nation's airports, with long lines at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints, as TSA employees are working without pay, and some of them are starting to walk off the job. We can scarcely blame them for not caring to work for free.
Now, President Trump is looking to prod Democrats into getting DHS funded by threatening to put Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the airports in place of the unpaid TSA workers. And, as you might expect, the ICE agents will be arresting any illegal aliens they encounter on the spot.

Now that's an interesting notion. It's unclear if the president has the legal authority to do this, but TSA and ICE are both under the control of the executive branch and therefore answer, ultimately, to the president - so he very well might.

Mainly because I like hearing about Dhimmicrat heads exploding. It's so appealing I would like him to do it even if they fund DHS.

In 2015 a real world test was conducted on TSA. They failed 95% of the time. They tried it again the next year and failed similarly. If they did it any more we don’t know because ever since they’ve not published the results, if any.
Only a gov’t agency could fail so miserably and stay in business. Maybe this would be a good time to simply defund the TSA and turn security back to the airlines. They could hardly do worse.
and the:
1. have the Treasury Department hold all pay checks for Members of Congress, House and Senate, as well as all staff members and Capital Police, until such time and DHS is fully funded.
2. Place all of persons listed above ob the “no fly” list.

It is a form of asymmetrical political warfare towards scummy politicians who are used to linear political warfare.

Just abolish TSA anyway. It is a AA program for fat immigrants. What do they really accomplish besides wasting time and annoying people?
The other poster wanted to reduce your statement to a reductio ad absurdum (Oh, gee-Latin! I am impressed) observation, when in reality, the original statement of "If ICE is in the airports, they will not be on the streets conducting raids on illegals." IS an ACTUAL, provable reductio ad absurdum statement.
I used to travel a lot before TSA. I never had much faith in the private security at Dulles. I think it was Albright, they seemed specialize in hiring middle easterers and Central Americans (mostly Nicaraguans and Salvadorans!).
If there were ever a reason to attack Iran, it would be their state sponsorship of the terrorism that made our goverment stand up this department in its current form.
I long ago came to the same conclusion you have, it is a gigantic jobs program.
Next Trump needs to cut funding to the UN.
Might want to use postal workers.
