ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) — A shooting at a U.S. Air Force base in New Mexico on Tuesday left one person dead and another wounded, according to military officials.
The Holloman Air Force Base near Alamogordo, in southern New Mexico, was put on lockdown at about 5:30 p.m. because of reports of an active shooter near the base convenience store, according to a statement released by the 49th Wing.
The person wounded has been taken for medical treatment, according to the statement. Security officials confirmed the base is safe and the lockdown was lifted.
“Emergency personnel are responding to the situation and there is no threat at this time,” the statement said.
The base convenience store was closed until further notice, the base said in a post on Facebook.

Personally, I think women were nicer to be around back in the old days, when they were nice, not all covered in tattoos, and mean and violent.

Yeah, they seemed so, because of their generally (and deceptively) gentle manner, the way they could hide an iron fist in a velvet glove.
Don't get me wrong, I'm crazy about females, have been since as far back as I can remember. I even stayed in a relationship with one for 50 years, married, kids, grandkids. But I've come to learn that you underestimate them at your peril.
Holloman AFB Shooting Update:
A domestic violence event involving a woman attempting to serve divorce papers on her estranged husband, who was seated in a vehicle with their children present. According to eyewitness accounts shared on social media, the husband refused to accept the documents, prompting the woman to open fire on the car.She reportedly discharged approximately ten rounds toward the vehicle. The husband sustained serious injuries and was subsequently airlifted to a hospital for emergency treatment.
At least two bystanders or individuals nearby suffered ricochet wounds from the gunfire, though details on their conditions remain limited.
Tragically, the children inside the vehicle were struck during the shooting. Initial reports indicate they were hit amid the barrage, though specific casualty figures for the minors have not been officially confirmed in public updates.
Following the exchange of gunfire, the woman fled to the rear of the scene and died by suicide, reportedly by turning the firearm on herself. Authorities have not yet released official statements naming the victims or suspect, nor have they pronounced additional fatalities beyond her death. No other individuals have been publicly declared deceased at this time.
