The Senate passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act with huge bipartisan support. It fights the housing crunch squeezing working families.
Lawmakers like Tim Scott and Elizabeth Warren teamed up on grants and pilots to spark new homes.
The bill tweaks rules for more housing types and blocks big investors from snapping up single-family houses.
It streamlines federal inspections to speed projects without new spending.
“When President Trump and Elizabeth Warren and the Senate majority of Republicans can all come to the same place on a housing bill, what it says is you put partisan politics aside and you ask yourself, ‘What is one of the most profound issues impacting the American people?’” Scott told CNBC.
“It will mean, for the first time, that we’re moving housing prices in a better direction and beating private equity out of the system — making a very public statement that homes are for the families who live there, not for Wall Street investors who figured out another way to make a buck,” Warren told NBC.
Trump signed an order cracking down on Wall Street buying sprees. Now DOJ and FTC watch for market rigging against homebuyers.

what is this?
Didn’t you read the article?
my bs and wealth redistribution meter is pegging. ‘bi-partisan’ where a bunch of our MAGA senators voted no or didn’t vote?
you better be paying attention Mr. President. this might be the leftist fastball they’re trying to sneak by us.
yes. it was word salad.
This and every bill from the senate should’ve waited until they voted on the SAVE act.
Total BS Thune let’s this out ahead of it.
“ what is this?”
****************
It’s the UNIPARTY SENATE passing a popular bill in hopes it can call Trump’s “bluff” about not signing anything until he first has the SAVE Act to sign. I don’t think Trump is bluffing.
I despise the Senate’s leadership… most particularly John Thune!
RE: yes. it was word salad.
Read this then:
Veto.
“ Didn’t you read the article?”
C’mon, man!
This is FR!
I don’t want anything passed until the save America Act is passed
evil. by the Spirit you can sense it.
Bills do not have to be “signed by the President” to become law.
This is needed and overdue. It would prevent international entities with deep pockets from buying up American houses to rent them out at high rates causing higher rent, housing prices and lower inventory.
Shouldn’t this sort of involvement in the housing market be a matter for the states?
I have a house I’ve owned for >50 years.
Without being yugely tagged by fraudulent capital gains imposed on Inflation by the IRS, I’d be willing to sell it.
AutoPen works?
“stops investor home hoarding”
Does that refer to companies like BlackRock and Vanguard?
“ Bills do not have to be “signed by the President” to become law.”
***********************************************
Yes, I know. Most of us here have passed 8th grade civics.
I’m simply saying the President is given 10 days
to veto a bill or not.
If the President does “nothing” in 10 days,
the bill will become law.
“Bill Signings” are nothing more than “photo opportunities”.
