Trump’s sons are smart. They understand that Ukraine’s efficient cheap drone-interceptors are unique in the world. Ukrainians shot down about 500 Russian / Iranian drones every single day with that technology! Ukrainians were mocked for their invention in the beginning… but now, all the neighbors of Iran are getting in line to get their hands on those drone-interceptors. Ukraine has a huge card here and is helping out.

You seem so jealous about this ! 😎

Right now, only Ukraine has that cheap efficient drone-interceptor technology - actually working and actively USED in conflict.
What America has, costs at least 10-20 times more.
That’s why Trump’s sons are doing a deal with Ukraine about that.

I’ve been following the development(s) of these these new Ukrainian interceptor drones. The AI and detection tech and cost effectiveness is ahead of anything the USA can produce at scale, economically, at the moment. Necessity is the mother of invention...

That said, the Russians appear to be not far behind, and I assume the same is true for the US - with a question of whether we can match the cost effectiveness. That’s not something our MIC is very good at. :-(

I wonder what the folks over at Unusual Machines think about this.

I believe they thought they had the US market all wrapped up, what with Don Jr. and the extremely suspicious DJI ban by... the FCC?

Now? Not so much I think.

“Trump temporarily lifts sanctions on Russian oil ‘stranded at sea’”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I think it’s a smart move, applied - momentarily - as the US administration clearly stated.
In this actual context everything must be attempted to lower the price of oil.
Most Americans will not be able to cope with the sky-rocketing prices right now. It will restart the whole inflation once again!
America must think about its survival.

Anyway Europe doesn’t need Russian oil, only Hungary has defied Trump on this and is still massively importing oil from Russia… well Ukraine actually successfully bombed the whole thing a few days ago… huge problem for Hungary.

However for Russia this temporary lift on sanctions on oil… it’s not necessarily all good, since they have massive technical export problems right now. Ukraine is thoroughly destroying their refineries on a weekly basis.

I’m a lot more worried about what those oil prices will do to MAGA in the mid-terms than how much they may benefit Putin.

Don’t get me wrong, knocking off Iran to prevent them from getting nukes, much less the other havoc they create, is long overdue. And, an Iran effectively under US influence will harm Putin’s Russia in the long run more than a spike in oil prices now will help them. The risk to Trump’s agenda, in the midterm elections is, however, quite large. We’d better hope that anything that can give our forces an edge in the ME, NOW, does so, very, very well.

Its March.
The Midterms are a long way off.
I've learned not to doubt Trump.
Trump has already done what I wanted.
If the Democrats retake the Congress I guess it will be “The End of the U.S”

for the 100th time. ;)

” is ahead of anything the USA can produce at scale,”

.

Near identical drones are being built by private individuals here in the US that are setting world speed records.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fastest+drone

Loading them up with an explosive charge might take an entire afternoon to engineer.

Weight and balance, CoG etc might take a couple of days.

Ramping up production with funding, probably about a month.

And right now they are getting built for grins and giggles.

If Americans get serious about this the infantry won’t need to carry so many expensive and heavy rockets.

I can hear the naysayers now, “they are just amateurs” and “it takes a military contractor to do it right.”

All the while forgetting how drones came into being in the first place.

Amatures with little to no funding...

.

Frenchie, a temporary oil shortage is not a cause of general inflation. What would cause a general inflation would be a massive dump of newly “printed” money into the economy.

France is already shooting down Iranian drones since many days back, protecting allies. Are you still sleeping ?

But what do you Russians do to help America (?) - you are simply giving Iran coordinates to hit American and French targets. That’s not helping. Right?
When are you going to stop your attacks on our allied troops?

Having spent many years in both design and production engineering of electro-mechanical and electronic goods that the companies I worked for produced millions of (many millions across all those product lines)... it's not quite that easy to scale things up as needed here. Big $$ will help. (As one of my "mentor" engineers at one of our suppliers once dryly put it, "Anything can be done for enough money.")

Well, almost anything.

However, the bigger issue here is how to take existing designs that are combat well proven, and quickly scale their production up big time, while avoiding our usual procurement / MIC issues. That last phrase is crucial.

Thay’s it? Protecting their own guys more like it. Passive defense, big whoop. Well maybe France should step it up then and attack Russia. Let them take the lead and carry the big load and take the casualties. Let the French send ground troops to Iran this time instead of us. But you can shoot your mouth off because you know they won’t.
