Information about the trial of controversial internet personality Ramsey Khalid Ismael, also known as "Johnny Somali," in South Korea has surfaced, with prosecutors reportedly recommending a three-year prison sentence and sex offender registration.
On February 27, 2026, YouTuber and lawyer Andrew "Legal Mindset" took to X to share an update on Johnny Somali's legal situation in South Korea.
While claiming that things "could not have gone worse" for the nuisance streamer, Legal Mindset reported that South Korean prosecutors refused to drop the deepfake distribution charges against him and "ignored his unofficial settlement" with a Korean streamer named Yongman.
Legal Mindset elaborated:
"Today could not have gone worse for Johnny Somali (aka Ramsey Khalid Ismael) in his trial in South Korea > Prosecutors refused to drop the deepfake charges and ignored his unoffical "settlement" with Korean streamer Yongman or attempts to blame Bong Bong > The Judge and court were offended by his attempt to blame Korean culture for his actions, stating they are acceptable in the United States Furthermore, Legal Mindset reported that prosecutors recommended a prison term of three years with manual labor and official sex offender registration for Ramsey.
He added:
"> His "not apology" apology focused only on his ignorance of the consequences, and trying to claim innocence because the victim (BongBong) was not charged. Tried to claim the laws were unfair, neither the Judge nor Prosecutor liked this argument. > Prosecutors recommended 3 years prison time WITH MANUAL LABOR, the maximum fine, and offical sex offender registration. > The Judge set the official sentencing date two months out, instead of the typical 2 weeks, extending the painful waiting process (process is the punishment)."

Another prankster bites the dust.
After some time in a S Korean prison he'll likely wish he got the Tanner Cook treatment
If he only gets 3 years the kid is extremely fortunate! He easily could have gotten and effective life sentence being there for a few decades.
Oh good. I hope he dies there.
All of these YouTube pranksters seem to come to a bad end. I have no sympathy for people who publicly humiliate and embarrass ordinary people.
Three years may well be a life sentence.
They really hate him. Usually they’d just deport and entry ban him for life.
Never heard of this dude until today. So he likes to go to Asian countries and act up? Someone there should have gone kung fu on his a$$.
I hope they put him in solitary confinement with rats and no bathroom facility and starve him to death.
True
Agreed, the guy is the worst POS I've seen on Youtube.
He’s been beaten up several times.
The most punchable face.
Preferably after a few decades behind bars.
I’d launch that somali tuesday over the fence in to North Korea with a “I hate Kim Il Sung” T-shirt. There is an epidemic of black thugs, worldwide, tormenting people and destroying property for clicks knowing full well their melanin armor will protect them, along with their posse who will beat anyone who confronts them. A useless culture and I’m so glad I don’t live anywhere near the scourge of ‘diversity’. It is refreshing to see South Korea hold this bastard’s feet to the eternal flame he desecrated with his filth.

He did more than that. He was desecrating war memorials to the “comfort women” that were enslaved by the Japanese invaders. He was twerking on the statues, simulating sex acts with them, and kissing them. A former South Korean special forces soldiers kicked the crap out of him and the police arrested that somali turd.
