Last night, Keir Starmer’s governing Labour Party suffered a devastating by-election loss to the far-left Green Party. In the historic Labour stronghold of Gorton and Denton, a largely impoverished and working-class constituency on the outskirts of Manchester, the prime minister’s candidate took third place with 25.4 percent of the vote — falling short of the right-wing Reform UK candidate, who took 28.7 percent, and the victorious Green candidate’s 40.7 percent.
The result is a gut punch to the prime minister, who has been reeling for months from a poisonous cocktail of historically low approval ratings (he is the most unpopular British head of government in modern history), Reform’s continued dominance in the polls, and ongoing controversy surrounding his appointment of known Jeffrey Epstein confidant Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the United States.
This defeat, coupled with what are expected to be catastrophic losses in Britain’s May local elections (loosely analogous in terms of political ramifications to the U.S. midterm elections), will, in time, probably suffice to force the prime minister from office at the hands of his own party.
Still, while Britain’s media is focused on the implications of the by-election defeat for Starmer’s personal future, the real story here is why the Green Party won. Yes, it was a repudiation of Starmer. But there’s more to the picture.
The Greens centered their campaign on two principal arguments: that Labour’s posturing on illegal immigration went too far (the Greens have demanded amnesty for all illegal migrants in Britain), and that Labour’s generally anti-Israel policies did not go far enough to avoid “complicity” in Israel’s conduct of the Gaza war.

Where are the multi-cultural advocates? I remember hearing so much from them, in he 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Britain’s Islamic infestation has metastasized and is now beyond cure or containment. Britain will become the country equivalent of a rotting corpse.
IMHO, of course,
The Irish in me sez a non-celebratory “ eejits, they’re fooked”
Sadly…. as is Ireland.
Some years back a British friend and neighbor of mine and his wife, nice folk but both dems (both sadly now passed)... took a trip back to their “homeland”, and while riding on one of their public transit systems they were confronted by a middle-easterner. He flat-out asked my friend “what are you doing here?”. He told the guy “this is my country”... he told me the guy just laughed and told my friend, “not for long”.
My mother in law was from Manchester. She never wanted to go back.
When I was young I thought she was kind of racist...
Been to Dublin lately? Their crap government dumped countless turds on the streets. The country is run by an Irish hating white hating Ireland hating alienists who can’t wait to over run the rest of the country with Islamic and African turds.
That’s where my friends were from.
The Greens are gonna find out the Muzzies don’t care about their pet issues.
No longer the "Green" Party or rather the Environmentalist Party.
Even Greta Thunberg has moved on. Now it's all about Gaza.

Ah ha, then they’re for a different kind of Green, the Muslim green.
Yeah. The Chinese don’t either.
They tore apart thousands of acres of coral reefs to make their artificial islands in the South China Sea. As far as I know, GreenPeace and The Nature Conservancy didn’t say “boo” about it.

That’s a muzzie party, iirc.
Where is the ground swell for the native parties? Or is that particular district too far gone?
30% Muslim.
