Federal officers are searching the home of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, The California Post confirmed.

The searches are being conducted at Carvalho’s San Pedro home, his office at LAUSD in downtown Los Angeles and another location in Miami tied to the investigation, according to a law enforcement source. An affidavit filed concerning the search was under seal, officials said.

Carvalho is the LAUSD’s chief employee and has led one of the nation’s largest school systems since 2022.

It’s unclear why authorities are searching Carvalho’s home and office.

The progressive LA schools boss has voiced his opposition to the federal government’s immigration agenda in the past.

Very interesting, wonder if it’s child porn, but probably fraud and embezzlement.

LAUSD has an operating budget of $18 billion for this fiscal year, but they’re also running a deficit of nearly $900 million, which prompted the LAUSD board to send out potential layoff notices to several thousand employees. Hmm, I smell a fraud investigation here.

His Wiki page says he entered the U.S. illegally after graduating H.S. in his native Portugal.

I believe he was a “undocumented” immigrant. I assume that at some point he became a citizen. One of those “stay here long enough and then demand it would be cruel to deport you” cases.

18B ? That’s a lot of money . Sure to attract some folks looking to “wet their beak “ , so to speak.

Hey you have 18 B, nobody’s going to notice is probably the mind set.

I agree it is probably fraud and embezzlement, the preferred revenue stream of Progressives.

But it could be, very likely, that they search for the evidence of one and find both.

The odor of PizzaGate is in the wind.

There are many cities in America that don’t have budgets that big. Another large school district run by the left with huge financial issues. I wonder why???

From Illegal Immigrant to Superintendent for 2 of America’s Biggest School Districts

March 01, 2018 • Caroline Cournoyer
By Jillian Jorgensen and Ben Chapman

Excerpt——Carvalho was born in Portugal to a working-class family and came to the United States in the early 1980s as an undocumented immigrant. He has served as superintendent of the Miami-Dade County public schools, the nation’s fourth-largest school system, since September 2008, according to the district’s website.

Representatives from Carvalho’s office didn’t respond to requests for comment on his new appointment. The incoming chancellor started his two-decade career in Miami’s schools as a teacher, eventually becoming a principal and climbing the ranks to become superintendent nearly 10 years ago.

He enjoys a strong reputation as one of the country’s top superintendents, and under his leadership Miami’s graduation rates have climbed as new schools have opened.

He’s also been criticized for failing to punish teachers in a cheating scandal and was accused of having an extramarital relationship with a reporter for the Miami Herald.

The reporter resigned from her job when emails between the two were published in the local media, but Carvalho held onto his job and soon after received a promotion.

amazing how his illegal status has been known for so many years (and how he’s been given so many highly-paid taxpayer-funded jobs!!?) flabberghasting!

there maybe might be no embezzlement and no child porn. the feds might just be picking off the easy (most visible) low-hanging illegal fruit

Poor fellow. He only made $ 501,255.00 in 2024. ( transparentcalifornia.com )

So obviously a victim of the system..... /sarc

It is long past time the voters of California -- median per capita income of $ 38,000 -- would figure out just how SCREWED they are, while California's elite rake it in.

Quite the feudal system, taken as a while. Lie to the serfs while feasting well themselves.

Translation: Democrats who've managed to create a Democrat super-majority state built on lies.

Why limit yourself

It could be all of the above and more

Fraud and corruption is an institutional staple of California government and the number of high profile Democrats who have been busted with kiddie porn is off the charts
