Politics latest: Nigel Farage reveals key jobs in Reform UK's top team

Nigel Farage has unveiled his top team - a group he is calling a shadow cabinet but is more of a set of spokespeople.

Richard Tice is first up.

He is confirmed as the party's deputy leader, with Farage saying Tice will be deputy prime minister if Reform win the next election.

And he will also get the business, trade and energy brief.

Tice says it makes sense to have the theoretical department led by "someone with a successful track record in business who's made hundreds of millions for shareholders, investors and lenders alike".

Next up is Robert Jenrick, the former Tory minister.

He will be Reform's economics spokesperson.

Jenrick blames "decades of mismanagement" for the economy not working - taking particular aim at Labour and skipping over his long time in government.

Zia Yusuf - who is not an MP - is announced next, as home affairs spokesperson.

Unsurprisingly, Yusuf focuses on the topic of immigration.

He attacks both the state of illegal and legal migration in recent years.

Suella Braverman, another former Conservative cabinet minister, is the last spokesperson to be confirmed.

She will be focusing on education, skills and equality.

Yes, Rupert Lowe

Farage is being asked about him in this press conference

He says he’s not a factor, won’t even crack 1%

Thanks for the correction. I knew but my fingers were on autopilot.

Farage has been unable to accomplish anything.

I’m watching the Reform Press conference

Jenrick said they need an Industrial strategy. Jobs are going in the service sector due to AI. He says we need to salvage real jobs in steal, car making and industry.

He says net zero and decarbonisation has destroyed these good jobs.

I hope Reform UK becomes the ruling party quickly. Hopefully the threat of Muslims and Sharia Law taking over control of the country will ignite a fire in the real British citizens to make it happen. If they don’t Britain is finished. The idea that Khomeini and his IGRC are considering escaping the Britain should tell you how close it is to becoming “New Iran” instead of Britain. Looks like they already consider it theirs.

“..Sharia Law taking over control..”

It appears our countries still have a couple things in common as NYC and London are lost forever to a third world, warmongering, sick cult. There doesn’t seem to be even imaginary solutions.

I tell you what would be fun. It would be fun if Farage appointed Amelia to some position. Is Farage bold enough to do it?

It would be tongue in cheek, of course.
You go, girl!

Labour has a huge majority in Parliament. There is no coalition that might fall apart. They might replace prime ministers. But they will not have to call for a general election before August of 2029. And so they probably won’t.

That gives them plenty of time to do plenty of damage.

I don’t have much confidence in Farage. He is much more Pence than he is Trump. They need a chain saw what they will get is a squirt gun…if the wins.

Agree, he reminds me of Mitt maybe even W. Farage is not the no compromise leader they need but l don’t think the person they need is electable in England.

UK Reform Party Shadow Home Secretary . . .

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, has unveiled his new shadow cabinet in London, outlining the party’s strategy to challenge Britain’s political establishment. In a bold and uncompromising address, Zia Yusuf of Reform UK pledged strong action to stop illegal immigration and confront extremism across Britain.

Yusuf laid out a tough stance on border control, national security, and law enforcement, promising decisive measures if given the mandate. His remarks come amid growing debate in the UK over immigration policy, social cohesion, and counter-extremism strategies.

Key highlights from the speech:
• Strong crackdown on illegal migration
• Tougher action against extremist networks
• Border enforcement and deportation policies
• National security and public safety focus

Doesn’t look like Reform even placed in the last election - which was a tidal wave for Labor.
