War erupted at Columbia University when lefty faculty and students mobilized to torpedo an ICE recruitment event the school dared to post.
The meltdown was triggered by an ad this week on the website of Columbia’s School of Professional Studies for a Feb. 18 US Customs and Border Protection virtual career expo.
“Help defend the homeland,” reads the description of the event seeking to recruit for thousands of “mission critical positions,” and promising various Department of Homeland Security agencies in attendance.
“This is a unique opportunity to learn more about our mission and how you could contribute to it, making a positive impact on yourself, your community and your country.”
The backlash was immediate and furious.
“Capitulation,” raged journalism professor Helen Benedict on social media. “Columbia is recruiting for ICE. Alumni write in now. Cancel donations.”
“The depravity is bottomless,” fumed journalism professor Nina Berman.
Students and faculty quickly flooded the school with demands to pull the event.
“This event undermines campus trust, makes parts of our community feel targeted or unsafe, and further damages Columbia’s public standing by reinforcing the view that we are complicit in the turn towards authoritarianism,” wrote a faculty coalition. “Silence will be read as consent.”

Which parts of the community would feel unsafe? The illegal ones? Are there illegal aliens enrolled at Columbia? Isn't that where Obama was rumored to have went to but nobody ever remembered seeing him that went there the same years he did.

It’s no longer good enough to be neutral on an issue. Now you must agree with the radical left or you are a terrible person, the enemy.

Fascism is alive and well in the Nazi halls of Columbia University. Show yourself to the world like good little Nazis.
Trump should cut funding to Columbia again. If the faculty faces lay offs that will shut them up.
That place needs fumigation.
Was this a tactical error by ICE, or did they deliberately provoke a predictable hysteria from the faculty knowing they would incite their indoctrinated students; thereby showing 80% of all American voters the importance of voting for the GOP in the midterms?

Well, at least employers know which meatheads not to employ. They are being offered employment and they demonstrate against it.
I saw this with colleges trying to stop ROTC and military recruitment on campuses.
Found out that there were real internal divisions on colleges where some of the administration had served or had family members currently serving and insisted that military recruiting remain on campuses.

This is why some celebrities come out on X and say stupid things. If they want to continue to work, they have to fly the Communist colors. But among the vast majority of people who just want to live their lives without the constant drama, being forced to comply will likely have results the
“activists” won’t like.
Communists. Columbia is the home of Frankfurt school Communists after Hitler ran the competing totalitarians out of the county in the early 1930s. They landed at Columbia and the Communist cancer at Columbia really metastatized.
I did a little bar hopping this weekend with some friends. Every place we went had a sign on the door prohibiting ICE from entering.

This reminds me of the BLM rioting days. While driving through a nearby business district, I noticed that some businesses had “Black Lives Matter” signs out front.
Were the owners really activists?
Or were they just trying to avoid trouble?
Kinda like putting garlic on a door to ward off vampires.
