Noem backs SAVE America Act, slams 'radical left' opposition to voter IDs and proof of citizenship

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the case Friday for the passage of the SAVE America Act, accusing opponents of the bill of favoring access to the ballot box for illegal immigrants.

Noem was in the Phoenix area, where she pushed the Trump administration's efforts to shore up election integrity and voter security.

She touched on the Save America Act, a bill that would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote, photo identification to vote in federal elections and that states remove noncitizens from their voter rolls.

She noted that wide majorities of Republicans and Democrats approve of the legislation.

However, she criticized the bill's opponents who say it will disenfranchise millions of voters.

"Each of the arguments that have been laid out to criticize this bill are baseless speculation from the radical left because they want illegal aliens to vote in our elections," Noem told reporters during a news conference.

"They want to disenfranchise American citizens by telling them that their votes don't matter. There's only one reason that anyone would oppose this bill, and that's because they would want to cheat.

"They want illegal people and aliens in this country to be able to vote for them and to rob the United States citizens of their vote," she added. "And that's why they resist us at every single level."

It’s a civil war….traitor demoncrats vs MAGA.
Obummer, Holder, et al. are running the anti-American demons with their deranged, brainwashed pawns, Antifa, cartels, judges and the rest of the criminal islamocommies against God, Trump and the taxpaying, America loving US citizens.

How the DemonKKKrats justify their opposition to voter I.D. is another case of hiding the rule of cause and effect. That someone finds it too hard to get a photo ID is not for lack of trying. In an age when you need an ID to check out a library book or a picture ID required for all Will Call Seahawk game ticket pick-ups. Anyone eligible to vote can get a photo ID. All it takes is putting in the time to get away from the TV set.

You must understand cause and effect: It is not a tax to get a picture I.D. needed to buy alcohol, get a library card, get a Costco card, turning in aluminum for cash, renting an apartment, adopting a pet, buying a cell phone, getting a motel room, picking up a prescription, donating blood, purchasing tobacco, applying for Medicaid and Social Security, applying for food stamps, applying for welfare, applying for employment, apply for a license to hold a demonstration, renting a car, flying commercially, purchasing cannabis, gambling in a casino, banking/identity verification, and the ultimate reason is, if you got killed, you can be identified.

Laws for voter ID laws should be upheld. Otherwise, expect more votes from dead people, illegal aliens, people with false addresses and even Mickey Mouse. All of these scenarios have occurred in previous elections and are likely to be repeated in this and future ones without proper identification. Cause and effect!

You must understand facts. If it costs money to get an id it’s a tax. Supreme court would love that. It must be free.

“If it costs money to get an id it’s a tax”

No, you’re wrong.

It’s a tax only if it’s a “revenue measure.”

Try not to post in error.

" If it costs money to get an id it’s a tax."

The cost of photography, and putting it on a card does cost money. It would cost you $150 if I were just to take your portrait and put it on a thumb drive. To make a print of it, costs go up for the size. If my state did it, it would be cheap. Getting a standard Washington State I.D. card costs $54, an enhanced ID (EID) card $78 (recommended). You'll need to renew it every 6 years because your appearance changes (renewal for 6 years is $61)--a fact of life. A fee of an extra $10 to renew if 60 days late. See it as the cost of living.

For those with DSHS public assistance, clients will need to get a "Request for Identicard form" completed by DSHS. The client will then need to take the completed form to DOL, along with required evidence of identity as requested by DOL, and $5 to apply for the Identicard (The $5 is the cost to produce the card).

Maybe there will be an easy and cheap way to implement an Ap for iris recognition using a smart phone. We may have to wait a while for that.

The bill as drafted is unconstitutional, Congress has no authority to do what the bill proposes - except as to elections of congressmen and Senators.
