Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken legal action to support Mary Talley Bowden, M.D., in her case against the Texas Medical Board (“TMB”).
In 2021, the family of a hospitalized first responder sought a court order directing Dr. Bowden, or a nurse under her supervision, to administer Ivermectin to the patient, who was on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma due to severe COVID-19 complications. A state district court granted the order. However, shortly before Dr. Bowden’s nurse was set to arrive at the hospital, an appeals court blocked the district court’s order. Dr. Bowden was not aware of this stay. Dr. Bowden continued efforts to prescribe Ivermectin, and when the nurse appeared at the hospital, hospital staff refused entry and law enforcement was called.
However, despite acting in good faith to provide medical care to a potentially dying patient at the request of the patient’s family—and while under the assumption that she was acting in full accordance with the law—the Texas Medical Board issued an administrative penalty and public reprimand of Dr. Bowden. Dr. Bowden has now sued the TMB to reverse the reprimand. Attorney General Paxton is not only declining to represent TMB in the case, but he has now filed an intervention in the case in support of Dr. Bowden. Further, Attorney General Paxton—in support of Mary Talley Bowden—is also declining to represent TMB in another case brought by Dr. Bowden.
“I will not stand by as Dr. Bowden has her Constitutional rights trampled and ability to serve her patients impeded with an illegal reprimand,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Dr. Bowden has been a champion for health freedom, selflessly served her patients, and acted in full accordance with the law. That’s why I’ve filed this intervention in support of Dr. Bowden and to ensure administrative agencies don’t violate the rights of licensed professionals in Texas.”
The intervention notes that TMB’s reprimand was done with no consideration of medical expert testimony, ignored the fact that Dr. Bowden was acting in reliance upon both a court order and advice of counsel, and ignored due process during the hearing on the reprimand.

I would like to point out that despite the fact my story made national news, NONE of my representatives have been any help in my fight against the Texas Medical Board. That includes:
@GregAbbott_TX
@DanPatrick
@tedcruz
@JohnCornyn
@WesleyHuntTX
@TeamBettencourt
@ManoForTexas
@HarrisCountyRP
Please vote accordingly! Primary is March 3rd!
Did the patient survive?? I don’t see anything about THAT...
Bowden didn’t seek the spotlight. The pandemic hit just months after she opened her practice, and patients with Covid-like symptoms began showing up. While most Houston labs took 14 days to return results, her ENT lab had a 24-hour saliva test. She began administering monoclonal antibodies in early stages of infection—based on real-time input from a national physician group sharing protocols. Word spread. Her clinic became a hub.
Bowden initially tried to work within the system, even sharing findings with colleagues at Houston Methodist. But she grew alarmed that many of her sickest Covid patients were vaccinated. She became furious at efforts by the government and corporate media to discredit monoclonal antibodies and ivermectin.
The media parroted the insult. Medical groups issued blanket condemnations of ivermectin use outside clinical trials. Bowden, disturbed by what she was witnessing in her own patients, spoke out on social media. Houston Methodist—where she held privileges but had never used them—quickly severed ties. She learned of her termination from a reporter before receiving official notice.
The Texas Medical Board accused her of various infractions. Bowden says none of her COVID patients died unless they were already in late-stage illness.
The public backlash was brutal. Bowden feared for her family’s safety. One of her sons was rejected from all four private schools he applied to, with a board member candidly attributing it to her Houston Methodist controversy. Her practice lost patients as her legal bills mounted.
From Google AI:
“Based on claims made during legal proceedings and public statements, Dr. Mary Talley Bowden reported very high survival rates for her patients treated for COVID-19.”
“Over 99% Survival Rate: Dr. Bowden claimed that of the thousands of COVID-19 patients she treated or consulted with, her patient survival rate was over 99%.”
“5,500+ Patients without Death: In a March 2023 report, Dr. Bowden stated she had treated more than 5,500 COVID-19 patients without a single death.”
Judges and lawyers playing doctor and take their sweet lawyer time while patients suffer. Tell you lawyers what, play Doctor and get sued for medical malpractice and no medical license. FAFO
This lady deserves a medal for bucking the system. She has endured slings and arrows of the ruling class and I hope she sues the HELL outta this “medical board”. So much needs to change.....the Big Pharma needs a severe dressing down along with the idiotic politicians supporting them. God Bless Texas, God Bless Ken Paxton and God Bless Dr. Mary Bowden!!!!!
Can AI tell me if her patient survived?
If I recall FR threads back then; he did.
Thanks....With so much news filling our brains AND OUR TIME, it’s hard to sort out what we hear anymore...
Dr Bowden did not administer the Ivermectin, the man’s wife did by way of smuggling Ivermectin paste into the hospital to give to her husband.
A friend’s wife had a very serious health issue.
He took her to the hospital for an issue related to her health condition during the Covid scam and the hospital was going to put her on a ventilator because they claimed she had Covid.
He went up to the floor where they were about to put her on the ventilator, he grabbed a wheelchair and took her out of the hospital.
I went to Tractor Supply and got Ivermectin
“Oh, but it’s not safe for humans”
Bullshit
This crap could have been handled a year ago.
Not.
We will miss him as Attorney General but enjoy him as our US Senator. He will defeat John Cornyn.
