CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia already has strict abortion laws compared to some of its blue neighbors. But if passed, one bill could make them even stricter.
It's called Senate Bill 173, and it would prohibit the mailing of abortion pills to a person in West Virginia.
It's being backed by at least six senators, including Chris Rose and Laura Wakim-Chapman, who say it's a chance to crackdown on pill trafficking.
"A lot of these websites, we don't know where they're operating from,” Chapman said. “Some of them are operating outside of the United States. We don't know what kind of pills are coming into our state. They say they're abortion pills, but we really don't know what they are."
A person's wellbeing is at the forefront of this proposal, Chapman says.
"It was very shocking to me during testimony on two of the committees that there was a young man who used his actual name and was able to order these pills, underage, no parental consent and no medical exam, no indication that he was even pregnant,” Chapman said.
"It's very, kind of scary, to think that children are able to get these pills that could harm them.”

Lol. I saw Morning After Pills in a local stop and rob yesterday.
What would Ben Franklin think?
Those are not the same pills.
You are thinking of “Plan B” That drug is 1.5 mg of levonorgestrel. Plan B is taken in case of broken condom, missed birth control pill. It works best when taken as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours (3 days), but up to 5 days after intercourse.
This is the ban on the drugs mifepristone and misoprostol which can be taken up to 10 or 11 weeks of pregnancy however some have taken it up to 14 all be it very dangerous.
Yes, but I still find it sad.
So why do CA, IL, NY, etc Medicaid pay for abortions?
