Now, under the Trump administration, the Forest Service is even more understaffed

It’s always Trump’s fault. Actually Trump has done more than anyone to remedy this issue. These marijuana grows are funded by the Cartels and staffed by illegal aliens. The Dolan Fire in Big Sur burned for months, destroyed homes, killed 18 condors was started at an illegal marijuana grow by an illegal alien. Trump is fixing this.

This sounds as much about the “legal” growers wanting the government to burn the competition.

Special Forces training missions could have ended this problem.

Apparently, marihuana plants are very sturdy and hard to eradicate.
I remember areas where they used to grow hemp for ropes, and hundred years later, they still cannot get rid of the new volunteers.

Now, they’re sounding another alarm — that inadequate federal funding . . . , dangerous conditions and agencies stretched thin at both the state and federal level . . .

Like OTB betting, growing weed is one more example of how getting the government involved turns a money-maker into something that needs to be subsidized.

Irrigation tubes snaked across the craters of empty plant holes.

I would think that stealing water would bring out the full weight of government for enforcement with the severest repercussions.

In Maine there are now 500 grow houses. All owned by the Chinese criminal gangs. This is according to Steven at the Maine Wire who has been on both Tucker, Shawn Ryan and Julian Dorey podcasts.

This guy is a real journalist. An actual investigative reporter. He grew up in Dexter, ME where the shoe company was until it was bought by Warren Buffet and moved to CHINA.
A Chinese couple bought the house next to his moms. A week later some young Chinese men show up and convert the house to grow Marijuana.

These men all come from China. They are here illegally for the most part. They are here to work and pay off the debt they owe to the Chinese criminal gangs in China. They are basically slaves.

The marijuana is grown in Maine because there are still plenty of cheap houses in rural towns where there is no tourism. Then the product is a 2-4 hour drive to Boston. 5-6 hours to NYC. Easy access to I95.
Apparently this is also happening in CA, OK and other places in the USA.

The product is being sold to dispenceries in ME, MA, VT, CT, RI, NY because the Chinese gangs also have a license to sell legally. In addition they sell to the other markets and have driven the South/Central Americans out of that business. This is because they took the typical Chinese marketing model to POT. Make it cheaper and undercut the competition.
Sell it so cheap that the other growers can not compete.

They also use illegal fertilizers and chemicals to kill the mold and other weeds that grow in a high humidity, high temperature environment where the marijuana grows inside their houses. Products that are not allowed typically in other food/produce growing in US inspected industries.
So, the people that buy their marijuana at the legal dispenseries are thinking they are getting a clean product are smoking something grown with illegal chemicals.

Ahh, treehugger tears. Fertilizer, bug killers, etc. In a forest the size of Vermont. Gimme a f$@#$in break!

One good rain will disperse these harmless chemicals so that the concentration will be immaterial. Hazardous materials? Oh, fer Gawd’s sake, all of this stuff is available in local nurseries. Wear gloves and don’t breath the dust. Do that and you cannot be hurt.

Just treehuggers and their NGO’s campaigning for more Fed $$ from the other 49 states so that they can skim the dollar bucket. Don’t.

Ah, but the ‘licit’ cannabis grows are pollution free. I have to wonder how that works.

Years ago the liberal Sierra Club did research on issues that were threatening the forests and the natural beauty and resources of the Sierras. The research noted that illegal incursions into the forests and unpermitted development by “illegal immigrants” (at the time a common phrase used accurately) was amongst the strongest harmful factors.

The research was ultimately buried and board members who objected were canned.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chinese criminal gangs sanctioned by the CCP to keep Americans apathetic, stupid and psychotic would be my guess. They seem to be successful.
The left’s slogan 20 years ago was: “legalize it and tax it. And all the crime and violence will go away....”
California marxists screwed up even that.
These are the Chinese men that have been coming up from South America for the last half dozen years. Men that have a preplanned trip ticket. With directions along the way on how to get from point A to point B. Via the Cartels.
Then once they cross the border into the USA either via Mexico or Canada they are given a phone number to call. Then someone comes and picks them up to take them to camp.
From there they are sent to the various grow houses to work off their debt to the Chinese gang.
From what I understand it also could be a “family” debt that needs to be paid off. So the family back in China sends the son because the alternative is a lot worse. Like sending their daughter. Who would end up in a massage parlor instead of tending the crop.
FYI, this all started when the various states beginning with Colorado legalized marijuana.
When Maine legalized it then they started buying all the cheap houses.
During the Great Recession they busted several houses here in southern NH. These were houses bought at foreclosure sales. Then they installed the grow lights, irrigation systems and 400 Killowatt electrical panels. They got caught because they were stealing the electricity. Tapping into the wires coming from the street prior to going through the meter. The electric company started to notice the drain on the grid of power going missing. They sent out people and figured out the houses where they were stealing the power.
They busted several around here. They would have all the plants and lights/exhaust system for the heat in the basement. They were all Chinese gangsters out of Boston and NY too.
I worked for CDF many moons ago (California Dept. Of Forestry, now Cal Fire) when it was a sane state after the Coast Guard. We had to be trained, and sometimes accompanied by CHiP when we would fight fires in certain parts of the state because the ‘guerilla grows’ would booby trap their farms. Once we ran across a grow in the forests around Big Sur that was so big they helicoptered out huge bundles of plants and we burned them at the campground.
Not much has changed since legalizing in California. It is still an industry run by drug dealers.
“I would think that stealing water would bring out the full weight of government for enforcement with the severest repercussions.”
The bureaucrats only go for the low hanging fruit. A 5 mile hike is way to far for some fat DEI bureaucrat in Sacramento to go to enforce water rights. Much easier to arrest some home owner who sprays too much water on the sidewalk on the wrong day than one of their buddies in the cartels or the Chinese government. Now, if there was an illegal grow withing view of the ocean the Coastal Commission would be on them with a vengeance.
“These men all come from China. They are here illegally for the most part.”
(Changing it a bit to protect identities)
A Chinaman bought the assets of a company that went bankrupt in the industry that I am in. He retooled it all with Chinese slave labor. The Chinese workers came legally and stayed in a house the rich guy owned. The first thing he did was take all their passports. Then threatened to have them arrested and deported without pay if they didn’t keep working and keep their mouths shut. It is just another rotten culture that has no business here in America.
Where the Sierra club? Where are the rainbow warriors? Where are the gorilla anti logger activists? Where are the celebrities moaning their fearmongering?
The forest is being damaged, what will Bambi and Thumper do?
