Price Floors

A price floor is a government- or group-imposed price control or limit on how low a price can be charged for a product, good, commodity, or service. It is one type of price support; other types include supply regulation and guarantee government purchase price. A price floor must be higher than the equilibrium price in order to be effective. The equilibrium price, commonly called the "market price", is the price where economic forces such as supply and demand are balanced and in the absence of external influences the values of economic variables will not change. ---------------

Rare Earths are not that rare and we have a lot of them. What is rare are the processing facilities. Processing rare earths is filthy. We need to dramatically expand (restore) our processing capability.

“critical minerals with price floors and financing”

How about rich folks privately buying stuff when it is exceptionally cheap and storing it for future profit?

How about ordinary folks privately buying stuff when it is exceptionally cheap and paying people to store it for future profit?

Lockheed can buy rare earths.

Raytheon can buy rare earths.

The US could insist imported vehicles be imported with extra rare earths for Ford, GM, etc.

REEs are very similar chemically so the process to isolate them is difficult and as you say filthy. Many if not all of the solvents and reagents are highly carcinogenic so safe handling is a must and expensive. Also the chemical waste from doing the processing is carcinogenic. My daughter is a chemist and once look into joining a university R/D group trying to improve the processing. She didn’t take the job because she didn’t trust the safety.

“Rare earth mining centrifuge solutions represent cutting-edge technology in the mineral processing industry, designed to efficiently separate and recover valuable rare earth elements from ore materials. These advanced systems utilize high-speed rotational force to achieve precise separation based on density differences, enabling the recovery of rare earth minerals with exceptional accuracy.”

“These systems achieve recovery rates of up to 98% for target rare earth elements, representing a substantial improvement over traditional methods.”

It’s not solely about rare earths. That is a very, very small sector of the US critical metals new list.....everyone is being programmed, rare earth, rare earths, it’s copper, Silver, uranium, etc....to watch, all are at historic high due to shortages.

Putting a price floor on it at this level takes the banksters out of price discovery and manipulating the Commodities exchanges, which has gone on for decades.

Go Trump! ....that said, anything other than free market price discovery is going down the wrong road. In any case, this move guarantees no more bankster paper contract smack downs....a Trump win.

This is a game changer in the commodities markets....no more manipulation in the exchanges by the big bankster paper shorts?

Instead of government control of markets, sanctioned cartels, and price controls...in the old days if a group of people were illegally manipulating the free market we would either throw them in jail or kick their group out of the country.

This is yet another example of abandoning 1st world principals to accommodate people with no allegiances to anything other than their own people, money and power.

When are we going to get serious and start doing what needs to be done to protect our people?
