It’s the blue state blues.
Democratic strongholds New York and California will lose a combined six congressional seats after 2030 to the booming Sun Belt, according to an analysis of census figures released Tuesday.
The Redistricting Network projected that New York state will lose two more seats in the House of Representatives in the next decade because of stagnant population growth, which critics say is more evidence of an Empire State in decline.
And Americans are no longer California dreamin’ after decades of population growth — with the Golden State projected to lose four seats, the analysis said.
By contrast, Texas and Florida would gain four seats apiece with rapid population growth, according to the network.
The analysis was prepared by Jonathan Cervas of Carnegie Mellon University, based on state-by-state 2025 population estimates recently released by the Census Bureau.
Cervas is a redistricting expert who was appointed by the court to redraw New York House maps in 2022 following a partisan legal fight between Democrats and Republicans.
“This is not good news for New York or California,” said Jeff Wice, a New York Law School lawyer who has aided the New York City Council in redrawing district lines.
He said the blue states could lose even more seats if President Trump and Republicans are able to require a question on census forms asking about citizenship, which will later help determine states’ populations.
While the US Constitution requires that all residents be counted regardless of legal status, Wice said, a question about citizenship could discourage illegal immigrants or others with questionable status from answering the form.

This is why Joe Malarky Pedophile purchased 20 million, Nike-wearing DemonRAT voters from countries all over the world.
but Newsom is rigging California for his run for president ,LOL
Ya…well the NY and Cali voters went to red states. They didn’t stay to fix their own states. They moved and will turn other states blue
Too bad you cannot guarantee those extra seats in Texas, Florida, Arizona will not be libs. That is where they are all fleeing.
This is what they’re really fighting Trump about. It’s not votes, per se. It’s all about apportionment. Remove 15,000,000 people from blue states before the next census and the Dems lose power for a generation.
L
Rat states were predicted to lose EVs after 2020 too, but then the Biden admin made “statistical adjustments” and, lo and behold, those losses disappeared. 2028 is another critical election.
Won’t happen. Some judge will stop it.
No Republican will fight it.
As a fairly recent (2022) escapee to Texas from Commiefornia I have met many like me who moved because of the ridiculous politics. Nearly all of them like me vote to keep Texas red. But we are seriously outnumbered by immigrant Indians Chinese and illegal aliens who vote liberal. And IMO they should NOT be allowed to vote at all. Period.
Texas is now, unfortunately, a battleground state. Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio are solid blue, as are the Mexican border towns. Out in the hinterlands where I live is solid red but we are being overwhelmed.
They’ll change it so Colorado, Nevada and Virginia will all get +1.
Yes and many conservatives moved too Fl VA and other purple states as well.the Carolinas are getting many Mid Atlantic Conservatives from high tax blue areas
people are getting the H3ll out of NY and Californication as fast as they can
killer taxes
killer regulations
killer costs of living
killer deprivations of individual liberties
corrupt politics

Good
I’m thinking about this year. Got an election coming up in November. Tx. redistricted 5-so did Ca. Indiana chickened out so where does that leave us?
I was born and raised in Vallejo, CA (Bay Area on I-80 between SF and Sacramento). I moved to Rancho Cordova (Sacramento area) in 1989 to work for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) at Medi-Cal (California Medicaid) in the EDS SED (Systems Engineering Development) program. The office was near the end of the Mather AFB runway. I lived in an apartment about 2 miles away.
In 1991, EDS sent me to Plano, TX for SED phase II training. I then had 2 choices : Go back to Medi-Cal in Sacramento or move to Plano. I moved to Plano and I have been in Texas since. 2nd best decision I ever made. Marrying my wife was number 1. Dallas County and Collin County have changed a lot since I moved here in 1991.
It depends on how much cheating
They imported a lot of people into Dallas. It is not Texas there any more. Colin county was dependably dark red now what will it be
At least in the case of Florida, the opposite has happened, Florida is redder now than it’s ever been.
DeSantis is the 4th straight 2-term Republican Governor.
Republicans have super majorities in both houses of the state legislature.
No statewide office is held by a Democrat.
The current congressional makeup is 20-8 Republican
Republicans have more than a one million registered voter advantage over Democrats.
I think what’s happening is any moderately conservative person in NY has already or is considering moving to Florida.
The only downside is as Florida gets more red, states like NY get more blue and hence crazier.
Which is why Elise Stefanik gave up on running for Governor in New York. All of her voters have moved to Florida lol
That map shows +13
Not really sure how Texas & Florida gain that many seats after the next census. Both those states are in the top 3 for resident non citizen aliens (California is #1). I would assume deportations should affect them as much as any other state. Texas alone had over 3,000,000 non citizen immigrants already in 2023. Texas’ population increase each year by over 500,000 people but this total includes foreigners, and it is a safe bet those will dry up for the next few years.
