Why is this city different from all other cities?

Every Jewish child, even if he knows nothing else, knows one question: מַה נִּשְׁתַּנָּה, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה מִכָּל הַלֵּילוֹת. That question comes from the Passover service, when a child asks those at the table, “Why is this night different from all other nights?” The answer, of course, is that Passover is the night on which we commemorate how God liberated the Jews from Egyptian slavery, a moment that led to the seminal Ten Commandments and the Jews’ return to their land.

It is, in other words, an important question: Why is this one thing different from all other things? (For the non-Jewish among us, you can go to Sesame Street for a similar question.)

That same question applies with equal, although entirely non-religious weight, to events in Minneapolis: Why is this city different from all other cities?

Why, in almost all cities across America, are ICE operations conducted peacefully?

Why, in almost all cities across America, are there no reports of ICE agents injuring or killing people?

Why, in almost all cities across America, are there no reports of ICE agents being rammed by cars, beaten, doused with freezing water, verbally harassed, or having their fingers bitten off?

When framed that way, it’s easy to see that the unique factor isn’t ICE, which operates smoothly and peacefully just about everywhere. Instead, the problem is a handful of radicalized Democrat-run cities (e.g., Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland). They are the common denominator, not for ICE operations, but for violence.

NY, Chicago and Philly have not had any of their nutjob protesters killed. Minneapolis owns the monopoly an dead protesters. My speculation is that the three Eastern cities have significant black populations. This issue is not a black issue. Blacks are not at these protests in big numbers. It’s primarily a white liberal women and some progressive men issue. Minneapolis is a heavily white city with a core nutjob emotionally charged dysfunctional progressive liberal women and men populus, all who spend their time in therapy when they’re not protesting. They are prime candidates for getting themselves killed doing emotionally foolish things

But Minneapolis has two major non-white populations: Somalis and American Indians. Apparently, the former just want the grift, and the latter are mostly non-political.

One, Minnesota is a basket case, the only state to not vote for Reagan in 1984.

Also, follow the money, the city is probably living off of government fraud.

But all three major eastern cities are one-party Dem-led cesspools of corruption and crime. Quite right, it’s not a black issue. The blacks that I used to know despised all immigrants, legal, too, but especially illegal.

Many of the small colleges/universities in Mpls/St. Paul had already become incubators of the left by the time I was aware of them (early 1970s), the "fine arts scene" affected a smug and - if you were paying attention - eerie homo-/pan-sexuality, and the place was full of people who deemed themselves too "special" for narrow-minded, provincial small-town/rural Minnesota.

The important and beautiful people - whose parents and grandparents literally built he place - were already jaded and fond of forbidden fruits (like those found in the subcultures on the fringes of Chippietown and Hippietown).

Even in those days, Minneapolis was pretty repellent when you got to see behind the curtains.

The left is attempting to buoy up some sentiment in my city. Last week it was the weaselly looking pol demanding something be done(!) even though the shooting was a nonissue here.

Now the local news is inserting hagiographies about the “ICU nurse” who gave his life for the cause.

It is predictable and annoying, and this city suffered in 2020 and 2021 from riots.

Everyone has had enough of the left and their Brownshirt tactics.
