President Donald Trump has announced the United States would impose 10% tariffs on multiple European countries unless Denmark agrees to the "complete and total purchase of Greenland," warning that global security and U.S. national defense were at stake.

Thus, it will never happen. Tump is not crazy. He just throws out threats to get a better negotiating position later (even though it’s hostile to treat a close and loyal ally like Denmark that way).

No civilized nation on earth can accept, or even imagine, that a civilized nation like the USA becomes a delinquent and anti-Law&Order regime by illegally invading the NATO alliance with military force. Those who want Trump to do that are the Democrats, because it would make Trump look bad beyond imagination, to say the least.

If America illegally attacks its close allies. Then Russia will be embolden to take ALASKA - because it needs it for its national security (as Russians have said many times on Russian State TV) - there can’t be any double standards.

Therefore: Trump will never attack Greenland. Period.

It is in the national security interest of the United States that Greenland does not become a base for the Chinese.

I watched an Icelandic series called Trapped on the free Roku Channel of which one of the major themes of the first season was the Chinese buying up an Icelandic port.

I don’t particularly like what is happening in Greenland or Venezuela.

The US doesn’t have to “own” Greenland to build up a military presence there. We’ve had the right to be there since WWII. If Europe were to be become Islamic, we would already be in Greenland in the same way that we are still at Guantanamo Bay.

Remember Greenland is a few thousand people selling itself to the Chinese right now. So they can rape the resources and set up military bases. These people can’t even get to most of their Island. My understranding is that the 1951 treaty is tied to NATO membership.

If either nation withdraws from NATO, or NATO ceases to exist, the treaty is no longer in effect.
