Amid the continuing fallout from the unrest in Venezuela after American military special forces removed the dictator Nicolás Maduro earlier in January, we have now received a red alert for all Americans who remain in that country from U.S. authorities there on Saturday.
U.S. Embassy in Caracas is issuing the warning for people to leave Venezuela immediately. In other words: get the heck out of there:
GET OUT: The U.S. Embassy Caracas issued an urgent security alert, warning Americans to depart Venezuela as soon as it is safe due to mounting risks.

The security alert stressed that roving bands of armed, pro-Maduro militias are setting up roadblocks, and searching vehicles in hopes of seizing anyone connected to or sympathetic to the U.S.:
"U.S. citizens in Venezuela should leave the country immediately," the embassy said in a Jan. 10 security alert.
The warning cited reports of armed groups operating on Venezuelan roads.
"There are reports of groups of armed militias, known as ‘colectivos,’ setting up roadblocks and searching vehicles for evidence of U.S. citizenship or support for the United States," the U.S. Embassy Caracas said.
The statement from the embassy added that, "[a]s international flights have resumed, U.S. citizens in Venezuela should leave the country immediately." It also reminded Americans that there is no one from the State Department in-country to "provide emergency services" to them:
"In March 2019, the U.S. Department of State withdrew all diplomatic personnel from U.S. Embassy Caracas and suspended operations. The U.S. government continues to be unable to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Venezuela."

It's worth noting that the State Department has already put out its highest level alert, warning Americans not to travel to the South American country:
Those risks include "wrongful detention, torture in detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and poor health infrastructure," according to the State Department.
Now, something went under the radar in the days following the U.S. strike in Venezuela and the extraction of the country's former strong man Maduro and his wife, but I reckon people will enjoy seeing that no American is excluded from being affected by flight restrictions caused by dangerous world events, not even Oscar-winning actors like Leonardo DiCaprio.

When the US embassy closed in ‘19, all non fugitive US citizens should have left too.
Sounds like Pres. Trump needs to make a phone call to Venezuela, in his best Vito Corleone voice….

If these militias are not destroyed, the removal of Maduro will go for naught. Trump started this, and he needs to finish it.
