(The Center Square) – Daycare centers that receive hundreds of thousands in taxpayer subsides did not appear to have any children when The Center Square visited the facilities this week and were either openly hostile or told journalists that they were hoping to have children in their care, but did not have an application available or anyone to talk with about enrolling a child.
The focus on Washington's taxpayer subsidized daycares comes at the time federal authorities are conducting what they call a "massive" investigation into fraud in Somali-run facilities in Minnesota.
According to fiscal.wa.gov, a home-based daycare on 6th Avenue SW called Eyow Childcare Inc., received $158,931 in taxpayer subsidies and grants from July to November of 2025.
When The Center Square returned to that home for a second time on Tuesday, the homeowner immediately called police, and was videotaped as she refused to respond to questions posed by independent journalist Jonathan Choe.
Three Federal Way Police officers arrived within seconds but told the woman reporters were allowed to be on the sidewalk and urged her “to calm down.”

People nationwide are investigating daycare centers in their state, visiting the physical locations, and finding nothing there. No children and often people living in homes that didn't know their address was listed as a daycare center.
“WA State Senator Lisa Wellman has pre-filed legislation to hide information about daycares and their operators from the public”

This is outstanding citizen action.
Average folks have had enough of the looting.
It’s like the secret recipe to Federal Riches went out to all Democrat states on an encrypted Telegram post.
It’s similar to how all the MSM talking heads instantly use the exact same phrase one morning.
Even if they are a legitimate place, why are we handing over so much money to these businesses? Why am I expected to support other peoples children?
Day cares don’t need no stinking children , just a name and taxpayer money rolls in
Wouldn’t it be great if all of the childcare centers who actually follow the law, actually care for living, breathing children, wouldn’t it be great if they formed their own Association. To join the Association, you would have to unequivocally prove years of real service.
Gosh, the Association name writes itself:
The No Fraud Childcare Centers of America.
The No Somalis Welcome Childcare Centers Of America.
The No Somalis Involved Childcare Centers Of America.
I betcha the Eyow Childcare Inc. has already has an unfortunate something-or-other happen and has lost all their childcare records, receipts, costs, bank balance, checkbook and payments received.
Unfortunately for Eyow Childcare Inc. all the records from any gov’t agency and at their bank can be subpoenaed, even if it’s the friendly Moslem Neighborhood Bank.
The importation of millions of people from a country where theft and corruption is an accepred way of life, and who follow a cult that expressly permits lying to non-cult people was designed to ruin the United States.
accepted
Yes, non-cult, non-Muslim, infidels...okay to steal as they like.
I read the article recently posted of a woman spending a year in Africa, Senagal, for the Peace Corps. A business there, usually given to you by a relative, is for one reason: to loot everything you can for your family.
Any legitimate business there must be run by a foreigner; a foreigner won’t allow the looting that happens by the relatives of a local business owner.
Somalis are just doing as is customary for them - fraud and stealing is a way of life.
A facebook post claims There are 539 childcare centers in
Washington state that list Somali as the primary language.
<><>Most Somali daycares don’t even give a street address.
<><>are the Somali daycares submitting fraudulent claims for state grants and subsidies?
<><>have we even scratched the surface with uncovering the Somali fraud?
<><>The scale of nationwide Somali fraud so far is INSANE.
What’s TCS?
This place - apparently a single-family home - received nearly $160,000 for 4 months, max. Even if there really are kids there, I wouldn’t think the place could accommodate more than about 10. So, that works out to $16,000 per kid, or about $4,000 a month or $200 a day for 20 days. If they have 10 kids, that’s $2,000 a day, an obscene amount. If they spend $20 a day for food and supplies for each kid, that leaves $1,800 a day for the owner. This does sound like a racket. Let the owner prove otherwise.
Maybe it’s foolish of me but I’m waiting for the super hyper fraud in Kalifornia to get mentioned.
There are several hundred state-licensed childcare centers in Washington that list Somali as their primary language, and the apparent existence of 20 operating Somali daycares within a 3-block radius in a tax-subsidized housing area of Seattle.
Reports from late 2025 indicate that investigations by journalists found a cluster of approximately twenty listed daycares in a Seattle Housing Authority neighborhood of Rainier Valley, which are officially listed as Somali-run daycares on state govt records receiving millions in tax dollars.
Key findings from these independent investigations include the addresses appeared to be residential homes, not operational daycare centers with children or staff present.
When questioned, individuals at the locations often refused to answer questions or denied operating a childcare facility ...........despite active licenses listed on official records and remittances of millions of tax dollars to those locations.
Some say the empty centers were part of a “massive fraud” scheme to collect state and federal subsidies, similar to cases under federal investigation in Minnesota.
State officials have clarified that licensed Somali daycares are under increased scrutiny following these reports.

Families living in Seattle Housing Authority properties can find specific childcare resources and information about the Seattle Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) on the Seattle Housing Authority website.

There is more Somali child care space in Washington state than the entire Somali population of Washington state.
